We all have done various types of work.

Name a position that you did that was un-usual or of note.

Wow.... Hmmmmm

I worked at a Christmas Tree farm... which even though the guys I worked for ROCKED, was hard on me because I am allergic to pine, so I couldn't handle the trees. Whenever I handled them my skin would look like it was on fire (and felt pretty awful too). So they had me do everything else, from handling money to decorating the lot...

That was a weird job

Edited to add, the job that I do currently is pretty odd too... but that is only because it is uncommon

I've had a lot of different types of jobs in almost 40 years. Yeah, I started working as soon as anyone would hire me to do anything. Even kids can make a few bucks if they want to work.

But the oddest, wow I am not sure what defines odd in this particular case. I've pulled chickens, detassled corn, rogued beans, had paper routes, even drove an 18wheeler for a summer. I hauled rocks for a guy that thought he was going to build a super nudist colony in rural Iowa (wonder what ever happened to him...). So I guess I don't know what 'odd' is. I just did whatever I had to do to meet my responsibilities.

I was a bouncer in a niteclub that was run by ... not so legal type of people. I took care of mostly the female patrons that were out of hand but I did toss out a few guys. It was unusual because I am just under 5'2" and at the time around a size 8.

One of my odder jobs was in shipping and receiving.

I was an extra in a few films.

...I took in the money at a bathhouse.

I did 2 projects for institutional research.

I washed floors, washed dogs.   I did inventory.  Group homes were always fun.

Oh- I also built houses.      Me- a flamer- around all those he men.   LOL

After school I worked in a strip joint helping the women on with their costumes for $40 a week.
That's all I could afford.

Firefight/emt, I don't know.  That was the one job that I did not ever want and walked into it.  So yeah it was odd for me for many years while I was a firefighter.

Strip Club Bouncer.... Not Floor Man, Not Door Man... Bouncer

Have been arrested for aggrevated assult 37 times... all 37 times charges were dropped or thrown out by the judge. As a Bouncer you are still a civilian so when you remove someone and they think you have assulted them they call the police and the police have to come down if the guy files a report.

I thought it was funny that getting arrested was part of the job description.

I can also say the following... Most Strippers are Crazy... and I don't mean "Oh She's so Crazy!!" I mean "We the people find the Defendant" so much so that dating strippers is a Limit for me... I just won't do it.

He said, "Most", not all.  Besides, I don't know that QSM is qualified to make that statement.

I was a rescue victim, for my companies First Responder/Rescue Team. Loved that job. I was bound, dragged, dropped, lifted, carried, hung upside down - and all by strong, gorgeous men. Did I mention that I loved that job?

Probably the oddest, if you can call it a job, was Ordained Minister. That job had me carrying a full size cross down the streets of New Orleans during Mardi Gras. Only odd in light of the fact of what a happy heathen I am these days.

Oddest job I ever had was sweeping a porch. I got hired to go to an unrented office building every day and sweep the porch clear and check that the doors and windows were all closed and undamaged. 10 minutes every morning for $100 a week in the mid 90's. Still think something fishy was going on.

How can I get this job?

Oddest job I had was reading newspapers for a clipping file service. Actually it was pretty cool, 12 hours a day on the weekend shut up in a room with a bunch of girls...and my wife would get mad if I didn't go

The worst job I ever had was in high school. My best friend and I were desperate for a summer job and could not find a thing.

So we took a job on an assembly line at a major well known toy factory in NJ.

It was so surreal, I am afraid of dolls (too many science fiction/horror stories) and here I was, watching dolls heads go by and we would have to put the heads on the bodies in specific amounts of time. We were both repelled and cracking up at the same time. Also, every woman who worked there was really mean to us since that was their permanent job and we were just there temporarily so they tortured us.

On top of that boring, grueling task, their air conditioning was out that summer, and we were dying of heat.

Finally, I had to quit because the foreman kept hitting on me and harassing me and I had no idea I could complain about that at that age.

All in all, I was there about 4 weeks but it felt like an eternity.

DS you are correct..... I would say that Most of the ones that I met.. close to 500 or so... of them I would say that less than 5% of the ones that I got to know.... and as a Club Bouncer you got to know them ALL... I think, in my unprofessional opinion, most were bat shit.

Every week you would have anywhere from 10 to 20 new dancers who would have to get what we called "Identified" This means we would get a run down of all the Restraining orders, need copies of the paperwork on file, any conflict of intertest from other clubs and since for the club I worked all were 1099 independent contractors we would have to have a running profile on each dancer.... This is not common in all clubs, but the owner used to run an escort service so he tried to run the club the same way.......

Here is why I think Most of them are Bat Shit.... I find that the majority of them LIVE on drama. I mean they aren't like highschool drama, where it's who's fucking who... but rather who's a whore on the side... who's tits are real and who is better in the pole. And the dancer Fights were the WORST. For every customer I had to Tap on the shoulder for being out of line I had to break up 3 catfights in the dressingroom. We also had a No Obvious drug use policy, meaning we don't drug test but if you are seen using on property or there are signs of use at your station... you're gone.

1 in 3 if not more ended up with a serious drinking or drug problem, 1 in 5 eventually found themselves a stalker or 6, 1 in 50 would be caught or accused of soliciting sex to a customer.

This is not all clubs this is Vegas, and it was also Totally Nude, so I know this does not apply to all clubs, but I did want to clearify.....

DS, considering you did Topless, you can't tell me you didn't see all these same things? I often wonder if they were better or worse in Topless you tell me?

QSM
