I am very dissapointed to see that many Dommes sees a slave as dumb, stupid or a doormat, because they chose a life of service. I am an educated, professional who chose being a slave because I love servicing my owners, I am not seeking emplyment or $ or anything but service, helping others in their typical day, in their work and in living better. A slave is there to improve the quality of life to their owners. Why is it that many people dont see it this way?

I think you will find that most Dommes, and for that matter Doms, agree that the service of a "service oriented slave" improves the quality of their life. Not sure where you got the impression that slaves are seen in the light of being dumb, stupid or a doormat..actually that is the exact the opposite response I am aware of. Perhaps you have simply read the wrong profiles and drawn a conclusion from a small sampling.

I think that you're making a broad stroking assumption based on your personal experience. My last boy held a Masters in engineering, before that was MBA and highly placed executive of a fortune 500, before that was the one working on his Phd in animal nutrition... I didn't see these boys as dumb. Stubborn, opinionated in self defeating ways and hard to deal with on occasion but never ever dumb.

I think its in part that either A: they are new and are not educated as to how to choose Their sub/slave, B: the way They are approached by many subs/slaves who make seem that they are *stupid*. I'll say that Ive been approached by many nuckleheads lol..in the time Ive been online(over a year). But thankfully I know how to pick n choose whom I share my *company* with. My subs hold a management position and are college educated. I dont think all subs/slaves are doormats..I for one do NOT want a doormat..I like holding interllectual conversations that dont always consist of "what do u like to do to ur subs".

I have to agree with the others here. I have yet to see anyone say that they would perfer their submissives/slaves be dumb, stupid, or ignorant. In fact, in the short time I have been here, it has been stressed that they perfer the exact opposite.
Heck, I get to talking with my girl and I am the one left feeling like I am lacking in the intelligence dept. Her mind is a part of her though, and I cherish every part that makes her her.

Not all believe that slaves are dumb. I personal prefer the intellectual type. I do love a great conversation to stimulate my mind.

That would be a disappointing thing to find. I hope your getting more chances to see the views of Dommes who don't think that way.
I'm sure there are Dommes out there who see slaves in a bad light. And I'm sure there are slaves out there who do things to perpetuate that way of thinking.
But there are a lot of good Dommes out there too, who truly appreciate their slaves. And there are good quality slaves out there.
Unfortunately, the orchard is full of both good and rotten apples.
Don't let the stinch from the rotten ones deter you from finding the good ones!

Actually, I've found that many of my compatriot dominant female friends, when seeking a servant are actually -looking- for intelligent, motivated, hard-working servants. My mate and I prefer and actively seek individuals like that to fill out our household, and enjoy the opportunity to interact with these individuals according to their intelligent and diligent natures.

I hope that it is only that you have had a limited number of experiences to compare to, because it has been my experience that there are many women who would value a servant who served out of the joy of service, and who was "companion quality" -- able to hold a good conversation on interesting topics, able to fit well into a household, and able to show him or herself to be a valuable asset, full of self-respect and dignity.

I'm guessing that those who are seeking what you are not are not a match for you, so you can safely write them off. Keep looking. Better matches are out there

I don't know any Domme's who'd want a dumb doormat for a slave, in fact I don't know any Dom's who would either, unless they are abusers in which case yep they prefer that type.

I so agree with this post. My wife and I prefer an intelligent person as a submissive, because a relationship includes conversation and it gets pretty boring if they are not able to at least carry on a decent conversation.

You must have been hearing from a select few Dommes..For the ones that I generally see here on CM..have great intelligience, heart and soul..and since they are so intelligient..their usual stated prefernces always lean to an equally intelligient sub/slave..otherwise I am sure they would become very bored very fast.be well..Tempting

It would consider it inaccurate to consider that Female or Male Dominants would want a dumb, stupid or a doormat for a slave/submissive.  However, I would say that there is a very small number of individuals that claim to be a Dominant who are intimidated by individuals that they perceive as being smarter than them self and will avoid submissive individuals that fit this group.

Of much greater majority, Dominants much prefer intelligent submissives to enhance the quality of their life.

johncw1, you're just approaching the wrong Dommes.

I can't even think of a single submissive who's ever either served Me or who has been My personal friend, whether male or female (yes I have friends who are femsubs),  who was anything but smart, charming, attractive, well educated, accomplished and a treasure to know.

I'd say that most of the one's that claim to be Dominant are intimidated by an intelligent person.  Or ... a live person for that matter.

Actual Dominants aren't easily intimidated by anyone, or anything.

And sometimes the Dommes play up to the "I'm just a lowly worm" variety of submissive, who is looking for that kink.

I, personally, am of the opinion that I deserve to own something valuable!

Well I don't know where you are finding those alleged dommes, but if you ever visit RI you can meet one Domina who likes a self sufficient, service oriented slave.  It's very rewarding if someone serves simply because it is his nature/desire/call, and all the better if he is smart enough to teach me something I don't know in the process.
Welcome to the boards.   M

Let's face it- most people in the world have average intelligence.  Most doms don't want slaves smarter than they are (and a lot of slaves want masters smarter than they are).

If most people are just average intelligence, then it makes sense for a lot of people to want subs who are less than average intelligence.

Eventually they either break out of those stereotypical walls and learn how to form a solid relationship, or they don't.
