There were 200 some odd killings in the St Louis area last year... NONE of the stories on the deaths, at least that I've seen, mentioned the religion of the murder or victim.

Why did you post this one tho,Kirata?

There are homicides everyday,even in Canada.

Why this one?

Is there some other significance or angle to this story that prompted your interest to share it in the Politics and Religion forum?

Or did I nail it the first time?

OK show me another murder where a Christian is mentioned...as there religion...The religion of a murderer is not commonly mentioned if so show me how common it is.

Well then, suppose you explain to the rest of us precisely how it is that you think her religion could be tied to the incident. Because I don't have much time for people who are pleased to imagine that a connection they made in their head must be what was occuring in someone else's.

I said IF the religion itself is uncommon. Mentioning someone is Christian in the US, very common, would not provide anything of interest. If it was a killing of a Christian in Israel, you damn right it would be mentioned.

I would not want to be a juror in this trial. How can someone who has not endured such horrific violence know the mind-set of the survivors?

Her mind-set should not not be a factor in determining sentencing unless she is judged to be mentally incompetent.

The reality is women routinely are judged less harshly than men because society views them as incapable of such horrific acts, and even when it is shown that those acts indisputably occurred there is a rush to blame mitigating circumstances.

So tell me honestly that you would have made this same post if this had been a man who strangled his 14-year old daughter.

Until then I will believe it does. I don't much care if you have time to consider people that see it. Be blind if you like.

I don’t have to figure what was in the mind of the author of the story I just see their words.

59 wasn't claiming the article was all about her religion, he was claiming that was the only reason Kirata posted the thread. So he could show us how evil those muslims are. I called him on his bullshit and you jumped into the mix. Now I have read a lot of posts by Kirata over the years and he seems to be very intelligent and has never shown signs of the kind of behavior that 59 is accusing him of. So I am going to ignore the rantings of 59 and give him the benefit of the doubt when he says that was not his intention.
