ORIGINAL: mnottertail What was it that encouraged you to vote Bush, slowmindedJim? Was it the bankruptcy, the fact that he left his state in sorry fiscal shape? Clue us the fuck in. One thing that encourged me to vote Bush, twice, was Gore's and Kerry's condescending elitist persona...like your's, and Obama's. This is something that's always puzzled me, as an overeducated limey eurotrash sort whose grandaddy was saved from Hitler by manly American whiners like yourself. While you're trying to explain your thoughts in terms that people who aren't to the right of Silvio Berlusconi can understand, perhaps you could point out how a more or less self made mixed race son of a single mother is more of an elitist than somebody who finished bottom of his class at Annapolis but still got to wreck eight jets in Vietnam because his old man was an admiral? Or, come to that, how somebody who got into Harvard because of his family and scraped a passing grade for the same reason, despite being more interested in cocaine scotch and whores than his studies isn't an elitist? Bush and McCain were both members of the elite from birth, unlike the arriviste Obama. Is "elitist" just neocon for "has read a book or two since finishing school" or something?
