I have been watching the news coverage tonight of this story, and I was angry and disgusted listening to O'Reilly, Dick Morris, Breitbart, Hannity, and some of the other right wing ideologues back pedal the shit out of their nonsensical positions. Then I log on here to see what some of the resident CM conservative and Tea Party supporters might be saying. I am not surprised to see your post deflecting the blame and trying to legitimize that asswipe Breitbart. I am not surprised, but I am disappointed.

Well I could stop considering myself conservative and jump on the liberal ship, but then I look around at some of the liberal posters on here and think, naw. I really don't want to be associated with those little haters either. All they do is whine and cry about the right. When ever someone on the left does something wrong, they point their fingers and claim "well they did it first". They group anyone on the right together and paint them all with one big brush. Now why would I want to be grouped with that?

Carmichael raised the banner of Black Power in a speech in Greenwood, Mississippi in June 1966. As the mainstream civil rights movement distanced itself from SNCC, SNCC expelled white staff and volunteers, and denounced the whites who had supported it in the past. By early 1967, SNCC was approaching bankruptcy and close to disappearing. Carmichael left SNCC in June 1967 to join the Black Panther Party. H. Rap Brown, later known as Jamil Abdullah Al-Amin, replaced him as the head of SNCC. Brown renamed the group the Student National Coordinating Committee and supported violence, which he described "as American as cherry pie". He resigned from SNCC in 1968, after being indicted for inciting to riot in Cambridge, Maryland in 1967. Brown then became Minister of Justice of the Black Panther Party.
