It seems for cons,a lie only counts if it`s under oath.Which would explain why bush and dick refused to be put under oath for the 9/11 investigation.

You can also lie down with some one. I didn't think that was the intended usage here.

Am I wrong?

I am quite sure Fox lies down with someone but I can't cite anything.

The difference is you can prove the bias of media matters and moveon through their lies. Try and find lies told by Fox News and WSJ....and check the definition of lie before you waste your time posting errors....which are made by all news organizations.

No kidding?

No one can prove Fox News lies?

How about one of their own?

Shepard Smith Unloads On Fox News, White House Over Shirley ...

Shep Smith laid into his own network Wednesday, calling out Fox News for its role in hyping the Shirley Sherrod story based on an edited videotape (h/t Mediaite).

Smith's critique began when he cut into Wednesday's briefing by White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs. He opened by naming a long list of participants in the Sherrod affair, from the White House to the NAACP to the Big Government website, which posted the edited video, to "this network," Fox News — which, he said, was one of the places where the video had been played "totally out of context."

Guess you cant read either. I told you to check out the defintion of "lie".

Well let's investigate that together Willbeur.

Come and hold my hand and we'll look into the wonders of what is called a dictionary.

Can you say that with me Willbeur?

Let's try.

Repeat after me........[dik-shuh-ner-ee]

It's like saying dick but with a "tionary" added on.

lie

1.
a false statement made with deliberate intent to deceive; an intentional untruth; a falsehood.

2.
something intended or serving to convey a false impression; imposture: His flashy car was a lie that deceived no one.
(dictionary.com)

Now if we look at number two we can see that a lie is not only an outright fib but a conveyance of a false impression by failing to report all the facts.

Something Faux News is notorious for.

Prove it, moron.

And heres a little problem for you: They ran with exactly what they had, just like the USDA and the White House. So if Fox lied, so did the USDA and the White House.

So, Dan Rather runs with what he had (not checking fact) you blubber, responsible journalism!!!! Fox does and you say, poor Fox got taken in by the white house.

Maybe the white house did fuck up and believe a known lying network. That doesnt make them liars.  It doesnt fall under the definition of the word, it would make them dupes if you are casting about for a word.

You know, of all the talking heads at Fox I like Shep Smith the best. He really is a stand up guy. Last year when the DHS (Dept Homeland Security) released a report proclaiming that the greatest terrorism threat this country faced was from internal homegrown right-wing extremist groups as opposed to foreign entities, Fox was up in arms for days about the report and criticized the Obama administration tirelessly for its liberal agenda and attack on conservatism. The DHS Secretary caved and issued a public apology for the report. Only CNN and MSNBC actually covered the contents of the report and the rational behind it.

Weeks later a right-wing extremist killed the security guard at the Holocaust Museum, another one killed the abortion doctor, and the idiot militia group was arrested in the midwest for planning to kill cops. Shep Smith criticized Fox heavily for the way they handled the report. Fox did some serious back-peddling then. They seem to believe that their mission is to defend the conservative agenda, as opposed to reporting the news. Does that necessarily make them liars? No. But it does make them wrong quite often. This Sherrod story is just another example in a long list of biased "reporting." And it's a terrible disservice to the American public.

I've already shown how they knew the story wasn't correct and I'll point it out again.

Sherrod explicitly states that chapter 12 bankruptcy had just been implemented for family farms. Simply checking when that occurs shows this occured in 1986. Therefore FNC lied by ommission of that detail or they failed to check even the most basic fact of the story before reporting it, which would make their claim of being fair and balanced news a lie of commission. Either way FNC lied about the Sherrod incident.

Don't take me wrong.

I don't always agree with Shepard Smith but he does take "fair and balanced" seriously.

Too bad the majority of Fox News does not.
