Julia, John Kerry never met a Tax he didn't like! For "YOU" to pay!
Of course people like him think they're "immune" from paying taxes!
"HE" doesn't even "own" that yacht, some "LLC" or another does.

Kerry is not involved with Mass. taxes, that is a state issue, and he is a federally elected official....

Ah,...Julia, he lives on Beacon Hill in Boston at,....."Louisburg Square." The place where he had a fire hydrant removed from in front of his posh townhome and had it moved to in front of one of his neighbors!
Those are the kinds of things that....."the beautiful people".....do!
Howie Carr on the radio in Boston (WRKO-680 am) said that Kerry should re-name the yacht from the "Isabel" to (in his best Thurston Howell the 3rd voice)
the "Do as I say, not as I do."

Here I keep seeing conservatives attacking rich liberals for the crime of having money.... I thought that was what liberals do....too fucking funny

Lumping all conservatives (if popeye is even a conservative) together, eh?

Can someone point out where I said "all" conservatives in that statement? Perhaps my eyesight is failing, but I just can't see where I said anything about "all" conservatives up there in that quotey-box-thangy

Edited to add, you also claimed I apologized to you earlier, when I hadn't.... perhaps it is your eyesight that is off

Its implied by the lack of a qualifier.

Wilbur, thats talking outta both sides of your horses ass.  You came all unglued over that shit on other threads, saying that you were not saying the stupid shit you were saying because someone left a word out.   Same or different thread where you thought I was pathetic, because I didn't care to understand your misuse of irony as irony.

Of course, this post, besides sarcasm also drips in irony. My bet you will not see the irony here.

Wilburrr thinks if you don't respond to one of his inane comments then he has somehow won. Or that his point was valid in the first place. Most people left that mentality behind in grade school.

He doesn't represent me. I live in Illinois. He represents people who keep voting for him.

This is what bothers me about term limits. We are asking congress to save us from congress.

How many people pay any attention to what their Representatives do? How many even know their names?

How about phone numbers?, email addresses?

It is easy to blame John Kerry for being a rich guy. If the people of his district or in his case the state don't like him, they can vote him out.

Absolutely true. But until they do, he's as much my business as he is theirs, because he's as much my problem as he is theirs. They're electing him to make decisions not just on their behalf but on my behalf as well. And as one of the people directly affected by the decisions he makes, I'm entitled to not like it and to bitch about it.

Julia, he's not just a "rich liberal" he's a U.S. Senator.
How many of his constituants have lost their homes in the last year. Do you really think this is a good thing to be doing in this "depression?"

I don't recollect Bush selling his ranch and giving the money to the needy when he broke the global economy back in '08.
Or do different rules apply to Kerry because he's a liberal?

Hard to say! I'm discussing the question of relevance, and you seem to be discussing the matter in terms of definition. So maybe not.

Thinking about it, a true sense of noblesse oblige would require Kerry to cut back as his constituents are having to.

However, since Massachusetts isn't one of the states that had a meltdown in the financial mess of late, and since I assume (!) there's a lot of money in MA, maybe he is operating within n. oblige.

Hlen, ever been to Brocton, Lowel or Lawrence Mass?

If no one spends any money the economy certainly won't improve. Anyone actually concerned with the economy would be pleased to hear about this sort of purchase it will have direct and indirect economic impact far in excess of the amount spent on the yacht.

Jeff, sorry, I was referring to more recent presidents, both Bush's, the "Clintons", Obama.

Nope. I have read of the factory girls of Lowell at the start of the industrial revolution, but have not been there.

Note I emphasized it was an assumption, and I realize the entire financial spectrum exsists in every state. I guess I should have made it more clear that what I posted was (somewhat) tongue-in-cheek.

Well he certainly spent a lot of money in Australia didn't he? Did they quit building yachts in New England?
