Jesus. It's been so many years, I honestly can hardly remember. But I guess I go the same route as Laurel - just tell her straight up. Something subtle and romantic, like "I was thinking of moving in this weekend; what time Saturday morning is too early?"

Nah. Just kidding. But I'm a pretty straightforward communicator when it comes to relationships. As soon as I start to develop feelings, I tell her pretty directly that this thing we have together is special to me. She's got the right to know that so she can make her own decisions accordingly.

This is where I've changed a great deal. I don't have the excitement and all the antsy feelings I once had. In fact, many things take place without fanfare. Prior to reach this place I would have inquired about his preference on how it's addressed. My partners are typically more protocol oriented and prefer to initiate in certain situations. When I reached the point of readiness I would adhere to what was said. In terms of what follows my behavior wouldn't change. Rather than doing I envelope a quietness and listen attentively to him. This is a time of calibration and understanding how to respond rather than direct our dynamic. In short, I'd follow him.
