In the fifties, you saved up for a year or two to buy a new car and then paid cash for it. In the sixties you might have had a car payment for a year or two on a car that would last twenty years. Now you have three years of car payments on a car that will last you five years. The middle class was people who would save up the most money possible for a downstroke on a new house, to make their monthly payment smaller and easier to work into the budget. Now all people can think is how low of a downstroke they can get away with. By now most of you are making payments on your TV, alarm clock and toaster as well, and most major appliances. You shouldn't need some scientific study to illustrate what is going on. The middle class used to live right here, around me. They would sit outside on the porches on hot days and meet each other, become good neighbors and friends. This is very bad for government, and indeed my neighborhood has influenced the law here. They don't like that. By the mid 1970s it got hard to find a new house that had anything that resembled a decent front porch. Then they totally fucked the schools up. All part of the plan. This is news ? HELLO ! T
