I am hoping the people who frequent this board will satisfy a curiosity of Mine.  I have a question that has been mulling around in My head for some time.  Those who avidly read this section may have seen Me remark on it before during discussions on other threads, but I wanted to ask formally.

I read in this section much more often than I comment.  I state this only to affirm that I am familiar with those who have screen names that I see often.  Some of those names, I rarely, if ever, see outside of the Casual Banter section, of which Politics and Religion are a part.  Which leads to My question.

To those who send the majority of their posting time in this section, are you pulled here because your primary interest is in BDSM, but Politics and Religion are topics that interest you more than discussion of wiitwd?  Or, are you mostly interested in the discussion of Politics and Religion, but the interaction just happens to be on a BDSM site?

My apologies to those who see this as a topic that fits neither politics or religion.  Truthfully, if I am going to capture the responses that I am interested in, there really isn't a better place to post it.

Is there another section of the board- that someone who isnt really in the lifestyle- would find interesting?

I got here only by curiosity.    There are a good number of nice interesting people here- do that is the draw.

I doubt I would ever volunteer to be handcuffed.  But then that is just me.

My BDSM predilictions are very personal and private. And I am not much interested in most of the topics presented in General BDSM Discussions, although some are initially interesting. Kinda boring after awhile. Whereas Politics and Religion offers more stimulating discussion, despite the fact that most of the contributors (including myself) are consistent in their pov, and the going gets a bit rude here at times. Much more fun for me

For me it is a diversion from BDSM, if that makes sense.

Oh, I love you guys...

But, at the same time I do not enjoy personal attacks, etc, and it is really hard not to fire back in a target-rich environment.

I have already gotten to the point where I say my piece and try to leave it alone, even if that means i do not come back to a thread. If I think I am just going to repeat previous assertions, it seems pretty futile to do so, especially because no matter how often I say it those who do not want to understand my perspective are never going to.

To do otherwise reminds me of certain conservatives (and I am talking pundits and politicians, not posters) who try to influence opinion by thinking if they are louder or get the last word this makes them right.

Oh, don't give up.

I find you a pain the ass quite  often, but that doesn't mean I don't enjoy pointing out the error of your ways.

Just kidding.

But isn't that we are here for?

To debate politically, and that often leads to heated disagreements.

My brother gets really annoyed with my determination not to argue about religion or politics, so this is not just on forums I have adopted this attitude. I have been told this means i am "closed minded" because I refuse to hear them out, but for all of that, I just don't like fighting... especially when it ends up with me calling people I love racist fucktards... this is not fun.

That is the thing, I don't get enjoyment out of reading how some people would get that partisan that they would label anything other than what they believe as "far left", there are very few "far left" people on this forum

Speaking of partisan.... another issue I have with the BDSM forums is that you ladies over there are so nurturing. What's with that? It's very confusing when I read over and over.... "oh, yes, I understand your pain... I went through a similar growing, conversion, traumatic, whatever experience and let me tell you how I dealt with it ... but really you should consult a therapist...."

So much daytime television drama I think.

I am not truly dominant, nor submissive. I have no bdsm experience. I infrequently do have an urge, that I have never applied, to correct a female, though. Also, I would like you all - i.e. all six or seven billion of you - to choose to obey me. (Although I do not have the foggiest idea what to ask you to do.)

I came here to research the psychology of a slave, as a murdered friend of mine was one, and stayed to improve on my model of the mind.

I am not one for social interaction and these casual banter forums are the most intellectually challenging.

And arguing with Kirata isn't "drama"... um, okay

Quite honestly, I loved it. Watching two of the smartest men on CM going at each other like a couple of intellectual gladiators...I was getting aroused. That rarely happens in the lifestyle threads.

Well, it sure as hell wasn't nourishing.

Well I do not post here to get aroused...

I am not saying that their debates aren't fun. I am merely pointing out that there is plenty of drama in the political forums, and even he takes part in it

I'm just generally reluctant to post about things in my personal life, and I've seen most of the questions in the "other side" over and over again.  So I lurk on the other side and spend the rest of the time hanging out with friends.
