Welcome. Dangerous stuff you know, icing, not just blue, any colour for that matter, all that sugar, "sugar is sweet" and so forth. I prefer the fruit cake. "I like my cake and eat it."

I like my pie without twenty blackbirds baked in it. Blackberry or Bramble picked myself, warm from the oven with fresh cream. Hmm-HMMM!

I believe it's a gluten sensitivity, though, I've not been diagnosed. My sister announced her allergy, though, and sent me a link on celiac disease and gluten allergy and when I went over the symptoms, I was like, wow. Because I had been experiencing some of those same symptoms myself and they are not things you want to talk about. And sometimes, the reaction can be very embarrassing. I hate that. But I haven't had the embarrassing symptom in a long time, so I'm happy about that. I attribute that to the fact that I no longer eat PB& honey sandwiches or any other kind of sandwich. And I stay away from stuff with gluten in it, which is just about EVERYTHING UNDER THE FREAKING SUN! But I occasionally just eat that piece of cake, or usually, as much of that cake as I can since it's right in front of me, staring me in the face, or bagel or that really great bread at the restaurant that's piping hot from the oven with butter.

However, I just had pancakes! Gluten Free pancakes! And they were VERY good! Just like the real thing! It was so nice to have pancakes again! And they're not going to hurt me. It's Maple Grove Farms All Natural Gluten Free Pancake Mix. And there's even a recipe for Pineapple Upside Down Cake on the box! It was great!

Sorry for the delayed response, but I only just saw your question to me.

Hey :) That's okay. I have a gluten sensitivity which will turn into celiacs if I continue to eat gluten - that's what my food allergist said anyway. It's enough to scare me into eating gluten free most of the time.

It is really exciting when I find flour mix substitutes that taste really good. There's a brownie mix, I think it's called Pam's brownie mix, and when I make it with just oil and no eggs the brownies come out really chewy and yummy. I'm also allergic to eggs and soy. That makes it extra hard because a lot of the premade gluten free stuff ,like pizza and donuts, all use eggs.

I'm sure glad I don't also have those allergies. I drink soy milk, use tofu, and I do love eggs!

My sister also found 365 products from Whole Foods to be very good also. She made a chocolate cake from on of their mixes and I couldn't tell the difference. I shit you not! I also found another mix for Chebe bread. I think it calls for eggs, too, though. I don't know of any that don't call for eggs. I just looked at their site, though, and found this under "Products>Preparation":

Note: Some customers have had success in replacing the egg with egg substitute as follows:

3 Tbs. liquid gelatin. If dough is too dry, add water by the Tbs. until you reach correct consistency, or…
Use gelatin as above and also add 1 tsp. egg replacer mixed w/ 2 Tbs. of water, or…
3 tsp Egg Sub + 4 Tbs. warm water, or...
Mix 1 T. flax seeds in 1 c. of water. Bring to a boil, simmer gently for 15 minutes, then cool. It turns very gummy and egg-like.

Welcome blue icing. Love the nic. And dammit I think I'm out of icing sugar since I made some buttercream icing about a month ago and keep forgetting to buy some.

Now i have to go hunt thru a mess and see if there's any left so I can make some. Hot Damn I may have me some icing.
