That's why I chose that as my screen name. Most people think it has something to do with the ice formed on airplanes, but it's very simple - it's just icing that goes on cake that is blue.
I've posted some, but never introduced myself. I used to be too shy to post at all, but as long as I'm posting something that isn't serious I'm not too afraid of being smashed verbally. I'm really outgoing in person - it's the forums that make me feel shy. I see all these people introducing themselves, and I think - "Oh, I should do that, but now it might be too late." So, if it's not too late - I'd like to say hi and introduce myself :)

Hello blueicing...whenever I see your name I think of birthday cakes not frozentoiletnastystufffromairplanesyuck likesomethingIsawinthemovieJoeDirt. [:D] Those suckers are "meteors" not "icing" like what can happen to a plane's wings.
 
There ARE sadists here who might find it enjoyable to put you on the defensive any way they can. [;)]

Yay! That's exactly what I think about when I think of blue icing - birthday cakes! I'm glad I'm not the only one. I haven't seen the movie Joe Dirt - but several guys have asked me if I'm talking about the airplane stuff, and that just confuses me. Good to know kind of what they're talking about - thanks for explaining. :)

Welcome and I also thought of cake icing. The stuff that comes in tubes to decorate with, to be exact.

Yes, I was one of THOSE children that used to sneak into my mothers pantry to suck the remaining icing out of the tubes after a birthday. Then, with blue (or whatever colour) stained lips, deny I even knew what she was talking about.[:D]

That is awesome! I still make icing and eat it by itself sometimes. I'm allergic to gluten, so I'm not supposed to eat cake unless it's made out of some really gritty sawdust tasting brown rice flour - but I can eat icing all I want. I love the scent of butter mixing with confectioner's sugar, and vanilla extract.

And now I have to go teach a yoga class. So maybe I will make icing later. I love cream cheese icing too - it's really good. And putting a little bit of almond extract in there is tasty too.

And blue icing, I agree, the blue stuff is teh bestest! (the red is pretty but tastes horrible!)

Make the frosting without the dye.  Simple answer.  Homemade frosting is way better for you anyway. 

I'm also allergic to gluten.  It sucks!  I want cake with frosting!  Oh, wait, I had some the other night, I'm still paying for it.  WAAAAAHHHHHH!

The bakery at my local grocery makes AWESOME butter icing.......and they will sell it by the tub if I ask really nicely.[:D]

They also do a kickass cream cheese manna.
