If you live in the States and participate in BDSM activities, chances are you're already doing something illegal, but I'm guessing that this isn't about things like that -- rather, is about those activities that could be considered "criminal"... theft, public indecency, etc. I've had servants in our household who were trained as bodyguards. They were instructed to do whatever they had to to keep our family members safe, up to and including bodily harm. When off our property, those incidents can be considered "assualt/battery", and yet, we have people whose job it is to do such. In that sense, yes, I've asked those who serve us to do something that could be considered 'illicit'. With that being said, I think that it is irresponsible to put one's servants into a position where, in order to be obedient, they must defy the laws of the land. To me, it shows a lack of maturity to intentionally put those in service to one into positions that could jeopardize both that person's reputation in the community and, in many cases, one's own reputation as well. To me, it also shows a lack of self-restraint that I find... problematic. I would not continue an association with someone whom I discovered to be a thrill-seeker who would intentionally put those who yielded to hir into danger just to say that xhe did or to prove that xhe could, or for no better reason that the adrenaline rush of doing it.
