And preventative care is a hell of alot cheaper than curative.

Neither my point, nor yours, has anything to do with the states taking up the lead and beginning programs designed to cover those most vulnerable.

In essence, what anti-reform folks want is to give out free healthcare.

Continuing your penchant for misstating what other people think about things that you are clueless about.

How much money does your state shell out reimbursing hospitals for the care/treatments they perform but don`t get payed for?

Plenty, which still says nothing about "what anti-reform folks" want.

I would not have forced people to buy it. I would have allowed everyone who did not have insurance or who was unhappy with their private insurance the choice to enroll in Medicare regardless of age.

But..... then stop aiding those that choose not to participate… If they show up at the emergency room without private or public insurance give them directions to the local Republican National Headquarters for treatment.

Butch

Because its illegal to turn away any emergency case regardless of ability to pay.

Yes I know it is... that is my point...I say give people the option to buy voluntarily...if they don't too bad for them... all those ABLE to buy insurance but choose not to...suffer no more free ride.

No not at all... everyone should have the right to control their life... If they choose not to buy insurance when they can afford it I am tired of supporting them. They are putting a price on their life not me... they figure their life is not worth the price of an insurance premium... not me…I just want to hold them to their decision.

So, in the event of an emergency, you desire gate keepers at the ER doors, slowing down treatment to determine if someone has insurance.

Gonna take one hell of a toll on the ABC's.

Butch, what about the millions that are in this country illegally, women who enter this country pregnant, and get free maternity/medical care??
They are not able to buy insurance, because they are not here legally.

What do you propose doing with them and their children??

Dont know what Butch would propose, but there is nothing wrong with giving them a blanket, a weeks supply of Enfamil and sending them the fuck home.

For those with no insurance, it is free, for the most part, unless they decide afterwards to pay their bill.

The health care law isnt proposing people have free access to health care.

Tazzy you are off on a tangent... I believe in Obama's healthcare program...at least it needs to be allowed to see if it will work.

But to those who complain they should not be forced to buy insurance I say good don't force them... but if they get sick screw em.

Which brings us full circle to WHY they are forced to buy insurance....the premium shell game.

Owner I believe one of the key elements in Obama’s plan is to eliminate or reduce government medical payouts to hospitals for people who refuse to buy insurance.

If the republicans want this program to be voluntary then the only way it will work is to refuse those freeloaders...not their children but them… hard but if they know up front there will be no free care they may decide to buy insurance.

Myself I would rather pay taxes like other civilized countries, especially sin taxes, and have free care for all but that will not happen here.
