It's funny when it was a Republican idea to impose a mandated health care plan it seemed like the thing to do. Now that it's been implemented by the Democrats (in effect) the Fox crowd is up in arms. I mean seriously... anything for Obama to fail, right?

Anyone remember Frist? Your sworn leader, aside from Bush of course. Let me guess...now he's an asshole. Oh wait, that's going to be me. I've been here before.

"I believe in limited government and individual responsibility, cherish the freedom to choose, and generally oppose individual mandates—except where markets fail, individuals suffer, and society pays a hefty price. Let's face it, in a country as productive and advanced as ours, every American deserves affordable access to healthcare delivered at the right time. And they don't have it today.
It is time for an individual health insurance mandate for a minimum level of health coverage."
Bill Frist, Senate Republican Leader

I would not have forced people to buy it. I would have allowed everyone who did not have insurance or who was unhappy with their private insurance the choice to enroll in Medicare regardless of age.

"Never in the history of our country has government required, you have to buy a product, any product, with your own money against your will," says State Senator Jane Cunningham one of the sponsors of the legislation which ultimately became Prop-C.

The State Government of Illinois requires any driver to buy auto insurance.

What a great idea. So who do you think should pay for it?
