Intellectual discourse . . . what to do when she is not sexually appealing.

Only because you can't operate two heads at once

This thread is toooo funny!

For me Intellectual Discourse sounds dumb. The word 'discourse' sounds dumb and so does 'intellectual' for that matter, but like getting into it with someone else...to feel some sort of brain rub is so much fun, I love it. Guys, no?

Intellectual discourse . . . what not to do when he is watching sports on TV.

when used proper, it uses the full extent of a language.
You will find it back with people that enjoy reading literature and poetry or the analysis of it. It is used to help to take a sentence and have you think how the same sentence placed in a different context can portray a new meaning.

Including adverbs?

- Pile up of logical fallacies that inevitably results in a pointless argument over semantics.

Also, it's a good way to spot elitists. This works regardless of whether you are seeking them out or seeking to avoid them.

I personally recommend you don't worry about it and focus your life energy on something more ... fun.

Solicitation of girls for blowjobs notwithstanding, anything I say is intellectual discourse.

Hope this helps.

Now Ron, don't be modest.  Even your solicitations are intellectual.

Aswad -> RE: intellectal discourse (8/10/2010 8:58:43 PM)

Intellectual discourse is a way to acquire intellectually transmitted disease. [:D]

Health,
al-Aswad.

Intellectual discourse - both their meaning and those who deliberately communicate in such a tiresomely elitist manner amounts to discussions by people of intelligence who aren't terribly smart or worldly with it.

Think the Crane brothers of tv's "Frasier" - the award winning show and dialogue actually exploits such pompous waffle exquisitly. Not naming names but we have a few posters here who can't help themselves, either.... It just proves that you don't need intelligence to communicate affectively and coherently; that for some ego-brainiacs, the opposite is more likely.

Focus.

I usually enjoy the Brothers Crane and their misadventures, especially Niles, but yes, even for a proud elitist like myself, they can sometimes tumble into quite eye-rollingly lacklustre territory.

Baah, humbug. :)

Greetings,
New here and looking for some definitions.
Intellectual discourse?

It's a handy way to alleviate needless diatribe in one's inbox from people you have nothing in common with.
