All the work you're doing to clean up your disk and streamline your system's setup should greatly improve your speed. But if you just want to know what's using up your disk space, I still recommend as I mentioned in another post. Right-click on a folder such as one where you keep your video or music, then select properties, and then the General tab, and it will show you how much disk space the contents of the folder are using. Or do that with your My Documents folder, to see what they add up to, altogether. The bulk of it's going to definitely be in your media files. Also, if you want a handy conversion tool for how many kb in a GB, etc, here's one: http://onlineconversion.com/computer_base2.htm. A 1000 KB file is only about one 1000th of one GB, so it's not so big.
