Why, they have the skill and have bargained in good faith with the employer. I don't know why you want to penalize any union because they are maximizing what money they can make. Seems downright UnAmerican to me.

And the circle closes. In a right to work state youd have a point.

Not a matter of right to work or not. Right of work only gives lazy folks that don't want to pay dues the right to be a parasite on the Union contract. Name me one place , one company that is in a right to work state that the "non union" worker actually took less than the Union contract.

But you still didn't answer the question. Why are you keeping Americans from maximizing their ability to bargain for the most benefit for their work that they can. Or would you prefer we live under a Communist model that has all workers paid the same thing.....Thats IT! I knew it

Easy....Wal-Mart vs. Krogers vs. Costco (in order of total wages and benefits for the same level of experience). When there is true competition for labor companies are free to set their compensation at the levels they can attract and retain employees.

And I did answer the question..3 times now (and I wont go around this circle a 4th time). Im all for Americans maximizing their ability to bargain, as long as the companies can maximize their ability to bargain without the law forcing them to use unionized labor...like in right to work states.

You aren't reading. Within an organization that is unionized is what I am speaking of. The parasites always take the Union wage.

As we know companies have plenty of choices to maximize their ability to have a cheap workforce. Either treat their workers in a way that will keep them from bargaining collectively, or move out of state, or move out of the country. To boo hoo about the ability of the Company to maximize profits because of Unions is a silly argument in todays economic realities.

One example: "In the last decade, half of the police and firefighters who retired in Yonkers [NY]collected pensions that exceeded their base pay, in (at least one case) by as much as 75%."

AND that's because of excessive overtime.

Are you up for hiring more workers?

Or for going without as much police and fire protection?

Or perhaps with hiring lower skilled workers at lower rates.

Those are your options. Welcome to reality.

Nah; that's just the party line.

Here's reality, one small slice anyway.

Sniping seems pretty simple. Are you overpaid? Should we all take a look at your day and see if you couldn't be more productive? When some clown can sit at AIG and fuck up ,,,,and still draw a bonus now that is what I call overpaid.

And of course you are an expert on what is or isnt a fuck up and what is or isnt appropriate compensation...more so than the AIG board and shareholders. Sure.

I do when my tax dollars are involved. But hey, I guess you don't care about your tax dollars as long as they are sent along to some poor wealthy soul that needs them. LOL

few would argue I'm overpaid, and they'd have an uphill slog of it. The market sets my wage, and the rates paid on my leases.

I have been known to write that executive compensation is insane. I have yet to see, though, a medicine that isn't worse than the sickness.

Why do you hate working people so much? I mean, really, if a business person negotiates a good deal for themselves they are applauded... when a working stuff does they are evil. It makes no sense how one can be considered "good" and the other the reason for the collapse of civilization

And unions are such a vast part of the American work force.  What, 15% nowadays?  35% at the peak?  And this 15% is going to bring down the USA?
