First, I'm sure we're all glad to see the little victory for the 1st Amendment. Second, in the name of tolerance, I'm all in favor of opening a strip joint on one side of this monument to terrorism, the Museum of Muslim Hatred and Violence (complete with exterior Mohammed characteriations) across the street, and GGs gay bar on the other side. We can put a synagogue catty-corner to one side, and a Christian church specializing in Muslim conversions catty-corner to the other. I'd love to see them get a dose of big-city tolerance.

So should there be a "Mosque Exclusion Zone" in NYC? Would it only apply to Manhattan, or would you cover NJ, since they could see the island from there?

The amazing thing about America, we can choose what we want to believe in, weather that be a god, alla, many gods, the great spirit, or even choose not to believe in any god.. we can choose to worship mother earth, the trees, your Mistress/Master or nothing at all. But some people want to limit that choice...pick any one you want so long as its not christian, OR choose any one you want, so long as it is islam....... from what I understand, and I could be wrong, that the koran teaches that the world should be muslim, or be enslaved, or die. personally, I do not care for those choices.... I also have heard that the mislim tradition is to build a mosque on holy ground and any site defeted by muslims is holy ground. I certinally don't think very highly of a faith that would treat women as the muslims do. it is down right obscene. another thing I have heard is the imom(sp?), the main fundraiser for this mosque, is a supporter of the terroists. one thing I hear from a lot of mulisms is hate speech. they do not tolerate gay's, women, Americans, jews, hell they want to anilate the jews..... where have I heard that before..... annyhoooo, If islam were not protected by the cloke of "religion" they would be condemed for their hate speech. don't tell Me they have a right to go around killing inocent people because in the past they suffered, if that were true then blacks should rise up, and indians, and irish, asians, and mexicans, we, or our family's, have all have suffered at the hands of another....that is no excuse for terroisr acts. yes I said ACTS.... 9/11 was hardly their first and hardly their last act of barberism I do not believe a mosque should be erected within sight of ground zero, I believe that is a slap in the face.

There is so much incorrect info in your post. Your world view might change if you even skimmed the Koran. Lumping all of Islam into one big pot makes no more sense than saying all Jews are cheap or all Christians agree with Jerry Falwell. How about all black folks are lazy, that's a good one too. And don't get me started on those fucking Catholics in Northern Ireland! However, since it has recently been decided that we don't need to be bothered by such pesky things as facts down here... I think you're laboring under some misconceptions. There's a lot of misinformation going out there about the imam and the cultural center. Especially the one that there's an evil plot to instill Sharia law in the US. Right. A religion which constitutes less than 1% of the population is going to subject the rest of us to Sharia law. It's not a mosque, first of all. It's a cultural center (you know, one of those things like a JCC or YMCA). It's also several blocks away, out of view of the WTC site. They don't have funds for it yet. There's no opening date. Only the NYPost listed an opening date, and it was pulled from someone's ass (just like the bus ads). Even the WSJ didn't put an opening date.

The Post ad did not having an opening date, it was pointing out that 9 years later they are building a victory mosque. And Rauf has clearly said several times that he wants the US to be sharia compliant.

I read in a report co authored by Obama's economic advisor, Christina Romer, that the Muslims along with their all-powerful and all-knowing Creator, Sustainer, Ordainer, and Judge of the universe, Allah, have developed a cloaking device so the mosque will be hidden from view of the paralyzed and all fearful A1 American Christians, like wilbur. During the day the a burkaesque cloth will be draped over the mosque and the cloaking device will be activated converting the mosque into a Chuck e Cheese.

I like how wilbur justified his intolerance of the mosque being built by claiming he lost seven friends and a girlfriend on 9-11. If this is anything like the erroneous post he made on the 3.8% equity tax on the sale of a home (even if you sold it for a loss) ....There is a very high probability that his story is also a bold faced lie and is based on the fact that he once met seven people that he wished were his friends and that he once talked to this guy that had a girlfriend and they lived in New York. wilbur had no friends that died on 9-11.

I would like to clarify, I do no for a minute believe that all muslims believe all these things. Ido not believe all muslims are bad, I do not care if one chooses to believe in alla, the great spirit or mother earth.... I have also heard that islam is a peace loving religion, and I imagin a lot of the followers believe and practice this. by the same token its kind of hard to ignore the president of iran when he gives a speech at the u.n. condeming and wishing anilation on america, and jews. I am not saying he represents all muslims.....but I have not heard many muslims stand up and condem the radicals. I am spiritual, I believe in my God, the same God the christians believe in. I don't go to church because so many put their own interpation and spin in the faith then expect me to believe it too. BUT if the pastor down the street started preaching anilation of muslims, I would speak out aginst him. a couple of people have said my post were full of misconceptions......prehaps someone like aswad, (I am assuming by his name and post that he is muslim) could clarify my misconceptions?
