Just as an aside, when I first started here, I had no clue what all those buttons were at the top right. I had never been on a message board before and had no clue what a search feature was, etc. That's what happens when you find these here interwebz when you're old like me.

Glad I could help, T. J. It's not so very long ago that I was worried about attending my first munch. I was lucky as I'd made some online Collarme friends from that area so knew 2 people who would be there. I'm also so jealous that you are living where there is a large kink community. Munches in small towns are not always well attended. In June we didn't have enough people to have a play party as there were 3 Doms and only one submissive. Then we had a dozen come in July and had a great party.

When I first started this journey there were a lot of people to help me with my first steps. The only way I can pay them back in any way is to do what I can for other newbies.

QSM, thank you for posting that other link. Now I have something to go to other than darkheart.

I get lost in Googleland, neck deep in a bazillion choices, and I suck at research if it isn't in a hard book I can put my fingers on. I have told people asking about munches and other things how to use Search in the message boards, too, and I'm sure it didn't always come out nice.

No harm to me, just saying I surely wouldn't have known several years ago. I also know that I got some rough replies to my first ever thread because I didn't pose the question perfectly, so I always feel kind of pained when first timers get (imo) pounced on a bit, when it really seems like they are trying to come out of the gate respectfully.

I still never use the search feature unless I'm trying to find something specifically from a thread I remember from ages ago. I used to hate it when LA posted all those links in reply to someone's question. I know some folks loved them, but I always thought it was dumb as fuck. But then again, that's just me.
