SxySubSarah -> excercising your anus... (4/19/2006 9:09:36 PM)

when asked to hold a butt plug in my anus, i had a very hard time with it.  i dont know if the plug was too small or there was too much lube or what.  should i flex the sphincter muscles, it seemed like this only made it more difficult.  this is my first time purposefully trying to control my anus, do i just need more practice?  any tips would be a great help.

thank you!

Flexing will make things more likely to wiggle out.   Relaxing and just letting it be there helps keep it there.   I find I need a pair of underwear to act as a counter force to keep things from sliding out when I move around with a plug.

Bigger plugs are less likely to come out as easily but you need to make sure it's not too big so as to be a problem getting it in and back out again.

One time I went to shift position and managed to accidentally get my muscles to jetison the toy in my butt.  I'm fairly sure there is a mathematical formula that could describe the path that the projectile took.

Tangwystal -> RE: excercising your anus... (4/20/2006 12:47:55 AM)

I have found that there needs to be a bit of dip in the plug near the base in order for the muscles to hold the plug in. If that is there then you should have no problem. The small plugs do NOT have a sufficient dip.. in my humple opinion.. go for at least a medium one.

Dustyn -> RE: excercising your anus... (4/20/2006 2:13:42 AM)

Muscle contraction can hold the plug in place, but only in specific positions. Others produce the wrong type of pressure, considering the shape of most plugs and the general need for lubrication to insert it in the first place.

Practicing will help, somewhat, plus learning some of the physics behind it wouldn't hurt any either.  If you want it in a visual manner, try practicing with your hand first and watch how different grips change how easily the plug moves, or doesn't, in your hand.  When I started using them in my play and scenes, that is exactly what I did to figure out how they could be used and what not along those lines.

Then again, I've always been a hand's on type of person. (pun not intended, but amusing)

I agree that finding a plug with a divit near the end helps hold it in better.

IronBear -> RE: excercising your anus... (4/20/2006 3:16:25 AM)

Exercise is obviously the key to tone up the required muscles and gain control.. Removing a tight plug should be no problem. Just eat a packet of peanuts, followed by a large meal of baked beans and do jumping excersises after.. The gaseous build up with ensure a large violent fart which will place the plug into orbit of have the defence system believing that Iran has launched an but plug attack on the US....

<< Just couldn't resist the fart comment>>

Honestly it is a matter of practice and if needs be having a tightish pair of briefs on to ensure it doesnt escape untill it is due to be removed.....

RiotGirl -> RE: excercising your anus... (4/20/2006 3:17:17 AM)

you could always try kegels.. it sorta tightens the whole area.  Plus i think another poster was right.. the base needs to be smaller then the rest of it.  Himself has a rather large (atleast for me) plug and an itty bitty one.. the larger one is smaller at the base and ihave no issues keeping it, i can walk naked with it.  The smaller one.. oooh lord it trys to slip out all the time.. Its a constant effor to keep that darn thing in

It's called a "free path trajectory from initial impetus."

i agree with riot....several sessions of kegels daily are great for all sorts of muscle control....

i like the constant effort needed with a small one...it never lets you forget

akisha -> RE: excercising your anus... (4/20/2006 7:27:05 AM)

You can also purchase a plug harness that will keep the smaller plugs in place. [:)]

LuckyAlbatross -> RE: excercising your anus... (4/20/2006 7:34:49 AM)

Your anus SHOULD have very tight control normally- and most standard plugs have narrow ends with a flared base which allow for regular wearing without worry of being pushed out.  Do you have anal control normally?

Now, unless it's actually secured in with a harness or something, when you flex your muscles, sneeze, cough or bend over, there may be no anal strength in the world to keep the plug from being shoved out.

NickInSLC -> RE: excercising your anus... (4/20/2006 7:35:52 AM)

Unfortunately, most plugs are not designed with a long enough narrow section at the base.  The best I have seen are the Tristan series of plugs.

Your anus is comprised of two spincters, the outer being part of the PC muscle and benefiting from Kegels.  Whereas the inner spincter is a seperate muscle few of us can conciously control.  If you are able to control your inner spincter, relaxing it while clenching the outer will draw a plug further in.  But for most, clenching the outter spincter will cause the inner one to also tighten and squeeze the plug out.

Sadly, most people who design and manufacture plugs don't use them.

Nope you're not alone......i also dislike it too and if compared, i'd be willing to bet that i dislike anal play much more than anyone one earth!

MistressLorelei -> RE: excercising your anus... (4/22/2006 10:18:50 PM)

Try to not over-lube the top of the plug...  put a a fair amount of lube on the tip which will head in first and don't put much beyond the first couple of inches.  This helps to keep it from becoming all gushy and slippery.  The other ideas are good ones as well... but what I have just written above has worked in My experience.... especially with the smaller ones.

CreativeDominant -> RE: excercising your anus... (4/24/2006 7:41:34 AM)

The use of an anal plug is a great way to train for anal sex and a great way to set up stimulation throughout a certain period of time. As others have noted, Kegels are a great way to learn how to keep the plug in. However, what is not noted are that Kegels, done alone without the presence of a plug, are also often their own reward. ~s~.

I have also found that for each person, the amount of lube used can vary though it is best not to get too generous with the lube. For one thing, it does make it easier to get in but also makes it easier to slip out. On the other end of the scale, too little and you won't get it in and once you do, it will be more irritating than pleasant.

For a submissive that has not done this before, I like to start out with them laying down on their side and not moving around. That introduces the submissive to the idea of something being in the anal sheath and it gives them the chance to work with the Kegels around the plug without the added difficulty of trying to move at the same time. As it gets easier, then you can have them begin doing it in other positions and while doing other things.

Finally, for some it may be easier to do an enema first. I know, I know....bleaaaaaaaaaaaahhhh. But...it does have the benefit of giving that empty feeling which for some, leads to a more receptive 'embrace' of the plug.

I exercise mine by talking through it.

Oh yes indeed.....never lets me forget who has me doing this.. for his pleasure.. not mine.

sublace -> RE: excercising your anus... (4/24/2006 11:23:04 AM)

I haven't had much problems keeping a plug in.  The bigger it is the easier it usually is, alot depends on how narrow the base is.  The smaller the short shaft is the better.  Of course, my sissy behind has been well used and had plenty of training.  I've had large plugs in for 6 hours already.
