Ah, but your own argument works against you here.

It is usually the new person who comes in and if I may, starts talking shit.

That is when they get slapped. It takes only a bit of sense to read and see how things work here.

Didn't read the whole thing, this is just a quick post.

I do not purposely initiate contact with someone just to belittle their writing abilties.  If is profile is chock full of errors, I simply pass them by.  If they write to me first however, I will insult them on a case-by-case basis.

If it is obvious that the person writing to me is not a native English speaker, I cut them some slack.
If the email was polite, I may or may not write back politely based on my interest level (though it is usually very low if I suspect that they should be able to write better than they are).
If the email was hostile or abrasive to my person in anyway then I let loose.
I almost want to report the SOBs that think it's perfectly acceptable to write to me in chat speak or texting shorthand though.  It should be a crime.

Be careful, pointing out the obvious makes you culpable in it

Hey!  Consider the number of times I have to spell that damned word a day I could spell it with my eyes closed.  Oh wait ... huh.  That wasn't so difficult after all.

Trying to TYPE it with my eyes closed however ...

To jump back on topic for a second.

I have to say, every time I hit spell check and it makes no corrections, it makes me happier than it should.

I always thought there was a need for someone to agree to it first.

On an internet forum, agitation is agreement to participate in whatever comes your way.

I repeat that it's the douchebaggery that gets attacked. I'm fine with whatever medium is used if it isn't against the TOS.

Just to add: If someones looking for that they'll likely find it. I can only tell you it's not true..It's up to you to believe it or not.

I don't know, Icarys-out of anyone here I think you come the closest to hurtful, as far as I'm concerned (because obviously, everything revolves around me yanno ). Sometimes when you reply to a post of mine I have to take a deep breath and remind myself that you're just a random on the internet whose opinion doesn't really matter before I'm able to respond. I can't think of a single other poster who has had that affect on me more than once (and only a handful who've managed it at all), which means I'm not exactly made of glass.

So if I find nobody but you that sharp, is that me 'looking for it'? I don't think so. You can kid yourself that everyone is as harsh as you are, but I just don't think that's true.

As a result I'm finding this whole 'be nice' drive hard to swallow.

That comment was sarcasm Vaugely based on a comment Jeffff said on another post.

I apologize if I've hurt you with the things I've said. It wasn't my attention to do that but to get you to think.

I know that I am harsh at times but I'm that way because I see the same thing in other people..Doesn't make it right though huh so I'm not excusing it.

The "be nice" drive as you call it shouldn't have anything to do with my behavior..I would think that would be a good way to be regardless of who's saying it. It stands as a better way to be no matter what.

See now if you knew me away from the computer you might see a whole different side to me. I go out of my way to help others..in business and everyday life. You guys only see what I've let you see so far. As I've pointed out before and I would think most people would know this...You can't know someone well enough to make a good entire image of who they are as a person.

Yanno, you jumped down my throat on this thread because of thoughts I expressed. I had attacked no one. I hadn't insulted anyone on this thread. I made a general statement. As a result of that I flamed you, I even had a post removed from this thread for doing so... But TOS is TOS, and no matter how much baiting you have done, flaming you is against it...

VC is one of the mildest posters on this board, she once emailed me for clarification on a post I made to make sure she understood me correctly, if she said she found that I had posted to her in ways that hurt her feelings on more than one occasion it would seriously make me question my posting style... but yanno, I question my posting style anyways. Yes, I have been harsh at times to people, but I can honestly say I try very hard to debate ideas, not people. What I notice about you, you are constantly debating people and not their ideas. You chastise people for being cruel when you are cruel. You are judge, jury and executioner based upon your opinions about PEOPLE, not the ideas they present....

And I, like jeffff, find your posts to LP indicative of dislike of a person, not her ideas...

And I would say it is "just me, etc", but I don't think it is

That would include my mother who panicked a bit when she mistook the red paint for blood..The doctors were a little alarmed as well.

I was however relatively calm amidst it all. Not bad for a six year old.

Just in-case your wondering..I know what you've said isn't the same as what I'm talking about.

A few comments.

I actually do feel for your Mother in that situation.  Nothing like a head injury to freak out a parent.  If you've seen or experienced one, you know the amount of blood will be more than most people expect.

The other is, you want to see calm?  (Really shock.)  I'll submit the following.  It's not a head injury, but this was something I saw last night on TV.

WARNING - This link is NOT for anybody with a weak stomach or anybody who could not handle viewing a severe injury.

ETA - This was in response to Icarys.  Not quoting the post that I was referring to was an error on My part.
