ORIGINAL: PeanutTigerinBox just wondering as kitten Urmel is covered in it (strangely much more than his brother) and when I comb it out he always ends up in a red kitten...until I shower him...as of course the blood comes out of it which those bastards sucked off him [8|] You are scaring me about the fleas. A diabetic friend of mine lost an entire litter because of fleas...they were nice fat little babies but when I looked at their gums they were white. By the time he could afford to take them to the vet they were dead. Vet said they had been anemic. I brought up diabetic because my friend's legs weren't sensitive because of this, and he didn't notice flea bites like I did when I walked into his apartment and had about 40 of them jump onto my legs and start feasting. There are flea drops to put on a kitten 3 weeks old, I think, called Revolution. It has to be gotten from a vet. I would have this on the kitten who attracts the most fleas at the very least. Two of my girls are very flea bite sensitive. I use a metal toothed flea comb on my cats several times per week...whoever is on my lap and gets brushed gets the flea comb next, lol. Often I cannot find a single flea, but if either of my two girls start getting scabs I put Advantage on them. I'm funny about poisons (as my lymphoma was probably triggered by heavy insecticide use from an apartment building I used to live in) so I don't use them every month, nor even on the same cats. Thanks CynthiaWVirginia, but they are thankfully coping with it. I do bath them at times and in such moments plug them off and as they are now 6.5 weeks old they are now getting closer anyway for more options regarding flea stuff...the local stores here don't have stuff below 12 weeks and ordering online wasn't that great an option either in the last weeks due to different reasons. However I do check their gums to their annoyance and they look fine. Also they have a heck of a lot of energy, considering how much they fight with each other, so right now they don't show signs of being anaemic... but once I am able to cover them with stuff I will do so and with my next salary I will certainly try to get stuff for them and in general I need to get done here a big job regarding fleas (unfortunately) as it is time to use the spray the vet gave me for my flat itself (he gave it to me due to having 4 cats but then I never used it as summer was pregnant with her 2 boys). However, soon it will be done...war for the fleas [:)]
