It won't matter much in November. The pendulum is swinging the other way.

The dems were telling us we were in a recession 6 months before we actually were. Numbers meant nothing then. The 2008 election was coming up..

Do you mean those numbers that you still have not shown us?

Apologies in advance if this is posted elsewhere. I didn't see it.

Interesting thing is the language. Double-dip used to be talked about in what-if terms. The will-look-like is more ominous. Rather than get into the endless finger pointing wars of who is responsible and the already well documented fallacies of both sides of the political spectrum, what I'd like to see is this taken to main street level. In other words, the article talks about business, government, etc. Doesn't talk much about what would be like for you, me, the rest of the population.

edited for clarity

I'd describe this as a single big dip recession. If by the numbers they wish to describe our economy as having a so-called double dip...it's spin.

What we need to do is cut wages at the top so that there is more revenue to fund jobs. Unpalatable ? Yes definitely. But at the moment it is very inequitable and simply not tolerable to have people earning bonuses as they are on salaries of $500,000 and higher when millions worldwide are unemployed.  Thats millions of potentially skillful workers going to waste because of corporate greed

I would be very happy if George Bush were still President. We would not be in the mess we are in now.
