Yes.

A photo is a representation of a person, in the literal sense or metaphorically. Under my old name, I used face shots with varying degrees of exposure...shots of ice that I manipulated through the use of a Lightroom program...and a red metal cafe' chair shot in different locations (gawd, I can't believe I'm missing the chair!). I got more interesting mail when I chose to use the symbolic photos...they were conversation openers and of course people judged me based on them. Heck, even my current one...the blooming rose...is symbolic.

OP, you mentioned a photo on a man's profile of a block of wood. I probably would have chosen to email him based on his photo choice over any model pic simply because it showed some creativity. Cock chots aren't creative...no matter how they like to dress them up (even the guy who had a pic of his painted to look like an elephant).

Online, all I have to go on are the words a person uses to express themselves and their desires and the photo/s they choose to represent who they are. Like it or not, a judgement will be made...positive or negative.

Now, if you'll excuse me, I think I need to go pull the chair out of retirement and see how it feels about stepping back into modeling. [;)]

Thank you and I get it, its so funny, I just got about 10 messages privately that I spelled "You're"  incorrectly,  yet none of these profiles are on the forums.  By the way, your photo is beautiful.

DarkSteven -> RE: Do you or have you - (8/16/2010 5:21:04 PM)

I judge people.  I judge them by their posts on the forums, by their pictures, by their profiles, and by their journal entries.  Even by their Friends - if it's a guy with dozens of obvious fake profiles of hot young women, I think "wanker".  If it's someone whose Friends are all local to them and especially if they're a mix of genders and orientations, it makes me think they're genuine and likely active in the local community.

Some people deliberately use their photos to convey info.  MissSophieM, for example, uses her pics to show what she's into.  holly used to have a pic that showed nothing more than her hand with a wedding ring prominently shown on it.

And it's not all negative.  Bobanna used to have a main pic that showed her looking elegant as hell.  Some people use cartoons to show a sense of humor.  There's one man who has a pic of an anteater as his main pic.  [;)]

I look for the obvious - is the backdrop a messy room?  Does the person show lots of pics of play partners?  Is the photo weird - there's an 80 year old man that had a pic of a man in his forties with a 1960's hairstyle?

Don;t get me started on the journal entries and what they show about someone.

Won't you be surprised when it shows up on a University of Sydney website without your permission!

I use judgment attitudes to my own advantage.

Since I've pulled down my gallery and became a 99 year old Lithuanian Transvestite the tide of leg humping c-mails has completely stopped.
Nigerian scammers don't even bother to send me c-mail.

I just adore you.   But of course because when you had up your beautiful picture -  You were judged.  Not only by men who assumed they could get in your pants, but by women who immediately hated you because your so beautiful.  So no one gets to know how gorgeous you are inside, because theyre sitting there judging you from the outside picture.  Of which I happen to know is one hot gorgeous effin beauty!

Thank you, Petal!

And I adore you back!
You know you're pretty fucking beautiful your self.
You're also fiercely loyal and not afraid to stand toe to toe with people who rub you the wrong way.

You're the sort that makes a great friend and lover but the worst sort of enemy.
Traits I myself can identify with.

I definitely agree about the bit of what a person has written on the forums.  That probably has even more relevance to Me than what is written on their profile.

Toppingfrmbottom -> RE: Do you or have you - (8/19/2010 2:16:19 PM)

No, you can't tell weather or not people are asses or bitches, or even worth knowing, by a picture.

Now if I might see someone less than handsome to me, are you asking would I think Ewww? You're ugly?

If so yes, I have judged someone to be not good looking to me, but I keep it to myself an don't tell those who I don't find attractive, hey  I really think you're not attractive.

But when I see lets say a beautiful woman, on the outside I don't judge her as a bitch because her photo is beautiful.  What I meant to say is, do you just judge the average looking photo, lets say TheRaptorJesus (sorry lol and I do love the kid already and we discussed this privately ) would you judge him just for using that photo?
There's a time and place for everything, so I guess what I felt wrong about is judging someone with a non cockshot or eagle spread shot,  but understandably you would judge someone who immediately put up that kind of shot wondering why would they?  I personally do not like to judge.  I have no right to judge someone because of a photo, and yet I do.  My personal opinion is I am wrong.  I'm not calling anyone else wrong, I was just wondering if the same thought process applied.

Bobanna -> RE: Do you or have you - (8/19/2010 2:26:06 PM)

YES I DO.  Especially the ones with Doms that have penis pics that claim they are straight.
yeah ... right.

mstrjx -> RE: Do you or have you - (8/19/2010 2:55:13 PM)

Yes. A picture can tell me something of a person. Do I make certain judgements based on that? Yes.

I find I'm usually most attracted to those pictures that do not have real people behind them (the fakes and scams and such).

I will be forever alone with that knowledge.

Jeff
