Well I definitely don't have 45 million posts, and If I'm considered a newbie so be it. As for being snubbed I have never felt that. Someone posted and I can't remember who or where, but it was about when you start a new job, people are all familiar with the job and the new person may not be. Even though standard guidelines such as manners, tos, and other things are available for everyone to read and or follow, people intepret things differently. This isn't a job, I'm not being paid to be here, so If I don't like something, either I'll personally say it, or move on, and I think if anyone feels "snubbed" maybe they should realize, all you'll gain is maybe some great friends, and maybe not. If it's worth it, stay if not feel free to move on.

I don't take offense to anyone who has to belittle or throw weight around to prove themselves. Being new to the boards, doesn't affect me one way or another, I have met some wonderful people and for me, that's the plus. So personally I have not been snubbed and if I have, apparently it didn't matter much to me, it's Polls and other Random Stupidity, if someone is going to take it all to heart, then that's a problem for them.

There was a young woman, a BBW in fact asking questions and I and someone else reply to her.

If a new person has general questions andis acting politely, we treat them respect.

If they come in here, acting like the the bull in a PBR rodeo and degrading everyone because they think that they are right, not taking any advice, then they can be hen-pecked for their matterisms.

Thanks for your thoughtful post, Pahunkboy. I think that it is pretty scary to be a newcomer to a site and perhaps even a lifestyle that even oneself finds not a little daunting. For myself, I have been saddened by wanting to be friendly with people who claim for the world that they are the friendliest and kindliest souls, and who snub privately, and some who snub not-so-privately, and some who are openly hostile. It is a thing that takes one aback, when one is just being eager and is a happy soul.

Perhaps "eager" and "a happy soul" just ranks on the last remaining nerve of those who may be jaded, dissatisfied, or even jealous of a perceived status as a resident wit. I don't know, and frankly, my dear, if I ever got sucked into having any kind of stake in approval or comradeship, I have gotten over that. Nowadays, I just go ahead and take part in the word games avidly, because you know why? I love to play word games, and it is nice to find others who also want to play word games, and are willing to exchange the back-and-forth of participation.

Sometimes, lately, I have tentatively offered my sincere thoughts when a question has been sincerely asked. It is not easy for me, but sometimes nowadays someone even acknowledges what I have said and adds a little back.

You, by the way, were one of the notable few to offer just a few encouraging words when I was daring to venture an answer or two when I was first here, so I for one attest that you practice what you preach.

And there are the questions that seem to bring out the humorous side of me, and I suppose it is my highly developed people-pleasing habit that makes me try to bring a smile or a chuckle or a even a laugh out loud to the day of those with whom I come into contact. This is also, apparently, one of those things that is misunderstood. Oh, well. As a very wise domme told me lovingly, not everyone is going to like me, and that doesn't make me any less wonderful.

Thanks again for your thoughtful entry.

People!

Show some patience to those who are new.

Jumping down the throat on the least little thing is poor sportsmanship.

The regulars know the different personalities- but not so with a newbie.

WELCOME to the new people, BTW.

Something to think about.
