How about the enormous costs of the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan? Think that may have had a damper on the economy and the unemployment rate? Or the corruption of Wall Street? Or the auto industry falling off a cliff?

How much debt is enough? Obama is killing us, hes wiping us out. Destroying our future.

You and your party could care less about the unemployed as evidenced by Republicans irresponsible behavior. Republicans continue to destroy the economy and you blame Obama, wow.

Obama attacks Republicans for stalling on jobs bill

US president Barack Obama has fired a broadside at Republicans for holding up a jobs bill after new unemployment figures delivered more bad news on the American economy.

An angry Mr Obama lashed out at Senate Republicans for holding up a jobs bill.
"It's obstruction that stands in the way of small business owners getting the loans and the tax cuts they need to prosper. It's obstruction that defies common sense," Mr Obama said.

Unfortunately, it is becoming ever more apparent that Obama's goal IS to destroy this nation, per the preachings of his mentor, the lunatic Rev. Wright. There is no other way to explain away the things he has done in office with the US economy. His gaffes now broadly eclipse ex-President Carter's in his economic disaster - but at least President Carter meant well....Obama is deliberately trying to send the US economy into the tank, to feed what seems to be this idea the US needs to be "cut down to size". Everything this man does seems designed to fester dissent, destroy the economy, and I believe - promote civil war. There is no way to blame the economy on "Bush" any more...this unfolding economic disaster is Obama's and his alone and it is deliberate.

The next thing will be....he will claim the economy cannot support the military and he will try in earnest to cut it back....claiming we don't "need" such a force anyway....because after all, we can just all hold hands with our potential enemies and sing "cum-baya"......just watch....first he puts the economy on the road to ruin via massive debt that creates no jobs or economic benefit....then he cuts back the military to weaken us militarily. Then....."gee....we have to do what the world wants us to do...what option do we have????".....

He's a dangerous lunatic surrounded by a lunatic fringe. The only hope this nation has is to run his party out of Congress this November....making him the lame duck he needs to be...and him out of office in 2012. He is destroying this nation and all the cutesy sarcasm in the world can't cover up that fact.

....and you know...I hope I'm wrong....for the sake of my grandchildren......

Surprise, surprise. The census is over, and the grand reconstruction and reinvestment of the Obama administration is coming to a close, and now the economy is dissolving. Anyone with half a mind following the numbers over the last few months could have called this.
I guess you can only distract a starving person for so long with a box of chicken McNuggets, before they remember they are starving.

Okay, show me the numbers of how the economy is dissolving.

And a great number of that unemployment rise is government workers out of work, due to budget cuts

Really, Mnot? I'd love to see some more details on these laid off gov't workers. We all know about the census jobs, but everybody also knew going in that they were temps. Which departments have been slashing the manpower because they had their budget trimmed? When did the IRS start sending out pink slips? Last I saw, the administration was borrowing yet another bundle of billions from the Chinese to keep government employees safely insulated from the economic realities of the times.

Just yesterday, the Congressional Budget Office predicted that the unemployment rate will not return to 5% until at least 2014. Well I guess it's over for the demorats then.

I'm kind of amazed they even think it will return to 5% ever, but then I realized that eventually everyone's unemployment will run out and the official unemployment rolls will no longer keep track of them.

By the way, Bush had a war to fight and whether you want to admit it or not, the war on terrorism is never going to end as long as we have countries who are either unwilling or unable to reign in their terrorists. That being the case we have no choice but to do it for them. Going into debt for a war is considered acceptable, but at some point it has to be scaled back down, and the debt paid for. With Obama's economic policies, even scaling back the war will make no difference since democrats refuse to control their spending to keep the illusion going.

Sorry, I was trying to compose a thoughtful response to the OP, but just couldn't focus, with that scene in my head.

I got nothing to add.

Thanks, but I was talking to him, not you.

If he wants to make the claim then the burden is his to prove it.

Or would you like to take over and help him out?

And when I say numbers that is exactly what I mean.

Jeez, too bad Bush didn't get the word that the war had to be paid for.  He went in without an exit strategy in either war and left others holding the bag.  Rumsfeld's "transformational", anti-Powell/Shinseki Iraq invasion strategy barely worked (there were many logistical problems) and left too few to establish order. By invading Iraq, he underfunded and undermanned (just like on the invasion) Afghanistan.

(Speaking of Afghanistan, he should've booted Karzai out of there.  Obama should do that too.)

I disagree about underfunding Af'stan. I think it was massively overfunded for the original mission: get bin Laden. And diverting resources to Iraq to try and create a Neocon No-Holds-Barred Capitalist Paradise reminds me of the scene in "Young Frankenstein" wherein Gene Wilder aims at the dartboard but hits the cat. Dumbfucks.

I say get out of Af'stan now, and go back to finding the monster UBL and bringing him to justice.

Do you know where the Taliban is getting much of its funding? No, not from sales of opium or heroin. It's from US aid that is diverted. Rampant corruption.
