I just made it to the end of this thread you began. Whew! No offense barrick. The essence of the your original words were disjointed. In other parts it appeared to be people making their best out of seeds cast upon a shallow lake which needed to be gathered up for a more productive use. I gather that you might be having a difficult time with taking your place amidst your own self acceptance of manhood. It is a fact that manhood has nothing to do with externals of feminist theory or otherwise.
Instead it has to do with being the man you were created to be AND not in order to spite another. Clearly manhood is a personal journey for each man. I am not claiming to have a ticket to paradise for manhood. Nor is there a “ How to” be a Man that is acceptable to all people all of the time manual. What I am saying is that if you do not forge yourself a pathway to your own manhood no one else will.
It is noted that prior to your claims of women learning of their equality men and women were at odds. For example consider the genesis story , 2nd chapter of the Bible and thereafter you find the age old argument of he did it/she did it. The gender blame game is a universal struggle since the beginning of time between binary gender(s) (male & female) for power, control, balance and some form of unity for them both, one to another.
There will forever be disagreement between all people. Healthy disagreement listens to another perspective for the sake of mutual respect exchanged, one to another. I also say that there is and will always be a universal struggle between the both - male & female due to the nature of the perceived differences of binary gender and the actual differences between binary gender.
It is most helpful to discover who you are as a man. Live each day as you know it to be right for you as a man. Never forsake who you are as a man, never! However in being the man you know yourself to be it is important to recognize that the same respect desired by men is no less than for a woman & is naturally desired by all people not just men. Respect toward all people can calm stormy waters when done so in a genuine manner.
I encourage you to reconsider that manhood is not wholly comprised of our genitalia nor is womanhood comprised of genitalia. Limiting yourself based solely on genitalia will indeed short sight you when it applies to arriving at a clear definition of manhood. Surely as men we have a penis and testicles. We either define who we area as men based who we wholly or by body parts alone. Remeber that relying on the myths of metaphors of manhood will only serve to bring forth the very ideology most women protest. You guessed it, misogyny. Hatred of women will destroy a man faster and surer than any disease known to humanity.
in closing note that accepting your manhood from a whole perspective will bring about a new found appreciation for being created to be a Man! Dare to live as you were created to be and take your place where you fit while never looking back. Lest a shadow or two will haunt for the rest of your Life if you forsake being who you are to be. If that is a Man then so be it, penis & testicles included. Yes indeed that is a part of being a Man, for myself it is. Welcome to the beginning of Manhood 101!
