ORIGINAL: Lucylastic http://www.aolnews.com/crime/article/police-nyc-cabbie-sharif-ahmed-stabbed-after-fare-asked-are-you-muslim/19607768 Roughly one block from his destination, the passenger, identified as 21-year-old Michael Enright, of Brewster in upstate New York, allegedly asked Sharif, "Are you Muslim?" When Sharif said yes, Enright pulled out a knife and slashed Sharif in the neck, face and shoulders, police said Is this a 'left vs right' issie? I'm sure there are folks on both sides that would argue it. Those that want the two sides (white Americans vs arab-looking Muslims) to fight, causing blood-shed, violence, and suffering. Another side, asking for people to remain calm and patient. Yet, what is really being said of the history of the action(s)? In a court case, it would be up to the prosecution to prove, this attack was some white guy attacking a muslim (an not just attacking to say...steal cash for instance). No one, besides the two guys in that cab really knows what happen. What is known, is the driver was stabbed multiple times by the attacker. It'll be up to a court to determine fault and penalty, not a mob media. The person accused, is innocent until proven guilty: by trial, or pleading guilty. While politics draw out our passionate elements, we would be wise to remember, this isn't decided by the rule of mob justice (or some 'debate' on Fox News/MSNBC), but the rule of law.
