Poise and I thought it would be fun to play this game so here it is folks. Of course it is poise is busting the rhymes!

This and that and that and this and then this and that some more
that and this and still more that and this and that times four
Shake and mix and mix and shake, come on now, dont be scared!
blend them all together and find what one thing these all shared.

Here's how we roll this thread... There will be FOUR clues that are somehow related to ONE thing. Your challenge is to guess what ONE thing is being described. The person who guesses correctly is next in of preparing the next set of clues!

Hiya Heartcream! Since you were running out of time, I will start the game off with my 4 clues.

June
religion
5 syllables
prehistoric

Best of luck everyone.

heartcream -> RE: Common Denominator (8/26/2010 6:48:57 PM)

Thanks poise, I will give it some thought see what I can guess!

dcnovice -> RE: Common Denominator (8/26/2010 7:40:39 PM)

I'm thinking Midsummer and Stonehenge, but I haven't come up with anything that's five syllables.

Thank you kindly for sharing your thoughts DC.....but they are pretty far reaching.
Lovely thoughts of course....just far reaching[;)]

heartcream -> RE: Common Denominator (8/27/2010 10:23:49 AM)

I am stuck on Persephone but that is not 5 syllables. Although she has some version of her name with more syllables.

Persephoneia
Persephassa

igor2003 -> RE: Common Denominator (8/27/2010 11:30:40 AM)

Which is this and what is that? Is it something that I knew?
Is it a time? A place? A thing? Or maybe it’s a “who”?
Unscramble this and Google that and tax my weary mind.
What ever it is went over my head and left me far behind!

Look at you go! Nice rap you have there igor....we should have collaborated before this thread was started.[:D]

Now......put down the microphone and give us your best answer.

igor2003 -> RE: Common Denominator (8/27/2010 11:41:56 AM)

June is the summer solstice, and as far as religions go I'm thinking something with druids, etc.  But prehistoric things, especially of a religious nature, and big words with 5 syllables leaves me with a headache.  Got any aspirin?

heartcream -> RE: Common Denominator (8/27/2010 12:52:14 PM)

I think prehistoric is such a funny word. Pre-history? I mean whatever is back there is history isnt it?

poise -> RE: Common Denominator (8/27/2010 7:48:37 PM)

June
religion
5 syllables
prehistoric

It looks like a clue is in order here.........*clears throat*
While it may be prehistoric....it is closer than you think.

heartcream -> RE: Common Denominator (8/27/2010 10:35:12 PM)

Aborigine?

Mistletoe -> RE: Common Denominator (8/27/2010 10:58:48 PM)

Aboriginal?

poise -> RE: Common Denominator (8/28/2010 5:25:44 AM)

Both aboriginals are great, albeit incorrect answers. I think the one clue that you are all holding on to
is prehistoric, so Im going to throw you all a curve there and see if it changes what you look for.

June
religion
5 syllables
prehistoric

While it may be prehistoric....it is closer than you think. = additional clue number 1
The sightings began in June of this year.   = additional clue number 2

heartcream -> RE: Common Denominator (8/28/2010 10:11:10 PM)

I am thinking this is something that has not evolved much from days gone by?

An animal, fish, star?

I am not seeing how religion plays into it unless it might share its name with something to do with religion?

An animal, fish, star? It is in the animal family

Getting warmer!

heartcream -> RE: Common Denominator (8/29/2010 10:18:03 AM)

I am leaning toward an animal that hibernates with a cute religious name, more likely a type of that particular animal? You say it is in the animal family so it could be a snake, bat, lady bug, frog, bear?

poise -> RE: Common Denominator (8/29/2010 10:27:31 AM)

No no no no no [:)]  You probably wont like me much when the answer is discovered.

A recap of the clues so far

June
religion
5 syllables
prehistoric

While it may be prehistoric....it is closer than you think. = additional clue number 1
The sightings began in June of this year.   = additional clue number 2

It is not Midsummer and Stonehenge or Aborigines
or Persephone or any thing to do with the summer solstice or druids
It has been ages since this animal has evolved
It has a religious reference in its name.

heartcream -> RE: Common Denominator (8/29/2010 10:43:18 AM)

Oh I will still like you [:D]

Hmmm must put thinking cap on.

Sightings June of this year. So is it like a prehistoric something or other that showed up again recently?

Is it a CM member that joined in June?
