Been down twice...will never mount or ride again. I still feel it in my bones...

You have my sympathy; i know many who feel the same way. But for me, the day they tell me i cannot ride any longer is the day i kick start old faithful and “take it the limit one more time”.

I have had a few serious wrecks, the last one during a dirt race where i actually managed to drive a piece of my helmet through my jaw and into my palette. Did not stop me a little bit. I would rather have one moment of perfect than a lifetime of mediocre. As my Mistress is so fond of saying "i do not want to arrive at deaths door safe and sound, i want to slide in and crash through yelling, Wow, what a ride!”.

Wow, awesome.  Thanks for the thread Twice and Thanks to Mistoferin and Twice to explain what i've been missing and why i'm wannabe biker girl.  LOL  Even why i just looooooooove bikes.  Never owned a bike, or have i been with some one thats owned a bike, so generally i just settle to asking random ppl for a ride.  i've only ever known one biker in my life.  Some odd reason, the rest of my appartment building was not as fascinated with him as i was, nor did they understand, nor did i.  There was just something about him.  Reaper was his name =  )  i miss him!  He was an ex biker from your days, me thinks, and he i remember him telling me often that he was old and broken.

<sigh> i am so envious of you two.  i suppose i am going to have to seriously contemplate why i wasnt born in the time when the biker community was going strong!  How dare.....

This should have read "take it to the limit one more time", my apologies; it was a typo i did not catch in time to edit.

LOL i dont quite understand that, thankfully Master came over to help.  Seems i was confusing the word "share"  Ha! i dont share!  i'm selfish and jealous and possessive!  Mine!  Course if it doesnt belong to me i share really really well.  <grins>  Granted there isnt much that belongs to me..

Riot,
When I was down in Florida recently I had no way of getting ahold of you as my brain dead self left all of my info here at home....but.....I am making tentative plans to be down there for Biketoberfest, providing I am recovered enough. It would be great to see you and my ex Master has lived there long enough that he knows ALL of the best places to hang out. I promise you that if you decide to come out and see the sights with us that I will show you enough leather clad testosterone to keep you drooling til you are well into your 80's...lol. We'll just have to make it a plan!!!

mistoferin -> RE: Dominance and Harleys ? (4/23/2006 12:03:03 PM)

Well now damn....this thread has just got me thinking "Boogie". Been practicing my line....."Got Beads?"....lol. Heck...maybe I could get one of those t-shirts made up....like the Got Milk ones....that sure would save a lot of small talk!!!

Been down twice...will never mount or ride again. I still feel it in my bones...simply not enough protection for me anymore and with all the traffic around and 90% cars with A-holes behind the wheel that could wipe me out.

I can understand your sentiment having been down three times myself....BUT.....time has a way of erasing the memory of the intensity of pain....and the wind has a way of calling your name. For me, I tend to be a passenger who pays much closer attention than I once did....two sets of eyes and ears are better than one sometimes. It doesn't guarantee a perfect outcome....but then again...I don't know of any guarantees in this life. Way I figure it is that I am gonna die someday...one way or another. Doesn't really matter if I just drift away in my sleep, die under the knife of a surgeon....or centerpunch a Buick.....the outcome will still be the same. When my number comes up....it's up.

I ride but my choice isn't a Harley. Harleys have a sort of aspirational life style thing about them. I like to race and you can't do that on a Harley.

Good call MC!
i will mega ditto that!  take any stock machine cc for cc in its own class and jap kicks ass.

i have relatives working at hd and hd's heady attitudes have really changed since the japs started manufacturing big bikes and giving hd a little serious competition.

Anyone ever see what a stock honda valkrie will do to a stock hd cruiser same weight?  Its not pretty.  ask me how i know :)  LOL

You can get hd to move but you better be ready to put additional money into it where as jap is off the shelve ready to go.

as far as the racing circuit is concerned its jap over hd roughly 2+:1 all 1000cc+ classes considered.

hd didnt design either the buell or ramrod.

hd has the sound and jap has the performance.

i ride jap btw even tho i can get a 15% discount on hd LOL

i like a iron tiger bewteen my legs too MC.  well that and i like to stretch out and hd is to cramped for my taste.

Oh dominance yeh, i dont know about dominance and hd, i do know i am a sub, but pull up beside me on the street and heh heh you better be packin some ponies or i will dominate :)

Well i'm not exactly sure what else you said.. too much mumbo jumbo here and there, but that i understood = )  i dont ride HD's or even bikes as often as i like.. but i do drive cars.  i'll race anyone on the street.  Rather i used to.  Course it required abit of skill as i was usually driving a rather slow car.. but fast car or no, zig zagging down the highway and weaving in and out of traffic.. fast cars dont do much for you!

You know, thinking about it.  i raced some one else down the street not too long ago.  Twas a man on a bike.  He won =( but i did punch out the SUV and hit about 120 miles, going so fast i was wondering if the bumps and stuff in the road was gonna knock me over or send me crashing into something.  Prolly should of been in the center of the road.. but that was his lane.  Damn and i punched it out to BYOB Woot Woot!!!

you know i once raced a cop unknowningly.  i used to be very competive.  Going down rolling road (2 lane curvy road) at 4 am, and i saw a car waaaaay back and he was making progress.. literally catching up to me!  Ha!  You dont catch up to me!  So i put a foot on the peddle.. But i had to slow down going around the turns as i once lost control of a car doing it so i'm abit cautious.. He eventually caught up to me..making me oh so mad!  How Dare!  Yet he was in the other lane and not quite in view.  Thought i saw a flash of blue.. and my heart stopped.  Heck i had hit 100 miles per hour.  But the flash was gone and i thought it all in my head.. started speeding up.. slowing down at turns.. racing.. until the dang fool pulled up and infront of me flashed his lights at me and sped off leaving me thinking "oh my gosh"

You know on 495 (you should know LA) up in VA.. i had a whole car load of ppl flipping me off and shaking fists.  <remembers the good ol days!>  You know traffic never held me back.. but that might be because i had no problem driving on the grass or that little slip of pavement next to the grass.  Anyone ever put their car in reverse on a highway?  Gee thats exciting!  GOD i love racing !  i miss it so much!  i used to race from Glen burnie down to Alexandria, finding ppl along the way who wanted to race with me.. Raced into DC once , racing with me was a corvette.  i think i won, cos they got stuck behind cars.  hehehehehe  nanner nanner..

Of course almost flipping and SUV kind of cures you of that.. but eh.  Racing is fun.

ElectraGlide -> RE: Dominance and Harleys ? (4/23/2006 6:59:38 PM)

I agree with mistoferin the Harley scene is different now. When Harley was almost doomed in the 70s and every body was riding japaneese bikes Harleys were not a common sight. I got my first Harley in 82 people would ask me why. Getting a Harley again in your 40s is not a mid life crisis. It is getting back what you had to get rid off when you were younger working too much to use it, and of course trying to support your family. Now the kids are grown a Harley is back in the garage where it belongs lol.

Its not my ability to understand thats the issue here,  my head is not the one shaking.

What the real issue is, that you dont have the balls come out and say "it".

You know, just had an interesting thought...........maybe you should pick up a moped, they dont shake so much. It would give your head a chance to stop shaking and your balls a chance to grow a little bigger.

and here you thought i wouldnt understand!  :)

Heck, it was being made by a company whose main product was bowling ball pin setters.   I was writing a syndicated column called "Cycle Circuit" back then and visited the factory.  The most interesting fact I came away with was not one executive I talked with rode a motorcycle.

I hear they are better now.

Were you there back when they had the old KT machining centers or the new ocuma's?

apb -> RE: Dominance and Harleys ? (4/23/2006 11:31:34 PM)

My 40th birthday present to myself was MSF riding classes and a black Honda Shadow VLX.  I put about 6,000 miles on that bike over the next couple of years.

Then a couple of weeks ago a friend of mine from the local club took me to the Harley dealership where her boyfriend works (just to hang out) ...  My eyes landed on a used pearl white Heritage Classis soft tail and I was in lust.  I don't know what it is about the bike - the power, the sound, the freedom I experience when I ride ... but I love it!

Now the Honda and the Harley are happily parked side-by-side in my garage.

Oh, by the way I am a sub (switch in training) and I know the day is coming when I will be riding bitch behind my MissTress.  It is our new *toy*.  Call it an engagement gift to us ... I love you Tress ...  [sm=flowers.gif]

brightspot -> RE: Dominance and Harleys ? (4/24/2006 12:22:20 AM)

My former Domina loves to ride!
Owns a huge I think it's a something(softtail?) Heritage, OMG,
she would be so disapointed that I didn't know the exact name[&o].

I think it is definately connected to her dominate personality and I know a lot of dominate lesbians who also own Harleys whether they are in the lifestyle or not.
I know for MsN and from personal experience that putting on the leather and riding amongst a large group of other women Harley riders is an extremely powerful  feeling of comradarie at it's peek[:)].

Just kidding, I like harleys I  like they way they sound they way they look, but I would only touch a .25 liter sport bike. 65MPG 110mph top seed and less then 300lbs weight.  But yeah nothing beats the feeling of the V-twin between your legs.
