oh yea you can race on a harley.just ask the top fuel dragster riders.

rarestlilsub -> RE: Dominance and Harleys ? (12/9/2006 12:39:11 AM)

hey those are nice bikes too. my ex ol man used to make me ride to bar with his bro who had a bonneville until i told him that the bonneville vibrated better than his panhead...that cut those rides out..:(  LOL

MMMMudd -> RE: Dominance and Harleys ? (12/9/2006 2:06:00 AM)

I found this thread quite by accident, glad to see there's another rat rider besides myself. Bikes of all kinds look best with a few layers of road grime. A bike without duct tape is like a day without sunshine.

Wow...a post from the past brought back to life. Hmmm, rarest, I don't know of a site specifically for 2 wheeled Dom and subs, but there are several of that "type" here on Collar-Me. Be aware however that just like anywhere else, there are just as many who "don't get it". Good luck in your search :)

eyesopened -> RE: Dominance and Harleys ? (12/9/2006 2:59:10 AM)

This thread reminded me of my first "crush" when i was not quite a teen.  Oh how i "loved" this guy and the sound of his Harley coming up my street.  He and i never even kissed and when he finally got the nerve to ask my mother if he could take me for a ride she told him my age and i never saw him again.  When i cried to my mother that i "loved" him she looked me in the eyes and asked me if it was him or the Harley that i "loved" and i could not answer that question.  If i drill down to my core i confess that i have been looking for Him ever since.

ScooterTrash -> RE: Dominance and Harleys ? (12/9/2006 3:16:13 AM)

Interesting effect that sound seems to have on some people (weg).

Good morning to you both, Rare and Mudd and Eyes. Glad you found my old thread.

Lol, Mudd, since you spell mudd  correctly can i assume you like to play in it? If you read the entire thread you see i am a Hare Scrambler myself.

There is a rather large network of Doms and subs who ride here on cm. Try knocking bikers and see how fast those of us who network get together to correct that sucky attitude! LMAO!!!!!!

Shall we add the pair of you to the growing list?

Panheads, the ultimate sex machine!

My first street ride was a '65 Bonneville, my old man gave it to me in boxes and milk crates and ziploc bags. Once i got her together what a great ride.

ps, Master mine (Scooter) you sound like the rumble of your bike does things to me...........

DianeB269 -> RE: Dominance and Harleys ? (12/9/2006 5:26:26 AM)

I know this thread is old but, I had to post.

Would not own a harley cuz
1. way toooooo slow
2. do not handle
3. 90% of harley riders are wannabes
4. have more fun on my dirtbikes and
sportbikes. (yes i'm 51 and still riding
dirtbikes)

Sure Twicehappy!

I've heard more things about mudd and what it might be a euphamism for, than I might have ever imagined! Anyway me and the mighty Sportster have found ourselves many times past where the concrete ends.

Given that this thread is one of the Harley/nonHarley debate, I'll weigh in here:

The same things that are said about one bike or another, could be said of one kind of shoe or another. Bikes are fashion, they always have been. I like wearing steel toed boots, though they aren't as pretty as stelletos, aren't as comfortable as houseshoes, and you can't run very fast in them. My bike and my shoes suit me, but that doesn't stop me from appreciating prettier, more nimble, antique, better made, or more exotic ones.

  Just my two cents,
Mudd

Very good reply Mudd

I've owned 8 harleys over years, buying my first at the age of 17. I was one of very
few females to own and ride a harley in the late 60's early 70's. I've riding motorcycles
since I was 13.
I still do trackdays on 600RR, 450R supermoto and ride dirt on my 250R.
Motorcycles do not make me a domme or a sub. I ride cuz, I love it.

My favorite for the GNCC's is a 450 KTM exc, it also flys on the ice.

But for the street a Harley it will always be.

It is not about going fast then, it is about kicking back and cruising, the sound, the style, the chrome.

I don't ride on the street anymore, just too many crazy cagers (people in cars) for me.

FreeRider -> RE: Dominance and Harleys ? (12/10/2006 7:52:31 PM)

laughs at the idea of there being a correlation between harleys and Dominance , though Harley will always be the Dominant Cruiser , lmao.

I grew up in a motorcycle family , father , uncles , grandfather, great uncles all riding harleys and indians. also am a 3rd generation " lifestyler". the only correlation I find between Dominance and Harleys is in the clubs where a Male is Dominant and females are "property". its nothing stated its just the way things are. I have been riding for almost 40 years now and do not feel that My bike has made Me a Dominant , its just part of who I am . hell both My brothers are sub ( and they both ride their own Harleys ) , its just their natures...... so no I do not see any relationship to Harleys and Dominance.

t0xicsslave -> RE: Dominance and Harleys ? (12/10/2006 11:50:29 PM)

i'm a slave and i ride a BMW.  i have been told by harley riders to "get a real bike".

to that i say, why should I? my beemer costs a few thousand dollars less, and with some minor modifications i can make it every bit as "real" as the harley... such as...

a.  i can load a couple of hundred pounds of lead in the saddle bags to make it more sluggish, less responsive and generally feel more truck-like.

b.  i can take the brake pads off, soak them in oil for a few days, then replace them so i won't stop quite as quickly.

c.  i can loosen all the nuts and bolts on the bike so over time pieces will rattle off

d.  i can remove all the gasket seals, let them dry out in the hot sun for a few days, then replace them so the engine and tranny leaks fluid on my garage floor.

e.  slap an eagle sticker on the tank and call it a hardley.

see, every bit as "real" as a harley   [sm=biggrin.gif]

i'm sorry, but i just don't get why bikes are synonomous with harleys in most peoples minds.  i can see why they are the bike of choice for many people, but that fact is they cost more, perform less, and break down more than most other manufactures.

yeah, i'm a slave, and i ride a beemer.  i've ridden only beemer for years and can't see myself changing.  I have a very close friend in the community who is a total Master.  Not in the self-proclaimed egomaniac tops disease kind of way.  But a true man of integrity, powerfully dominant, and owner of slaves.  He rides beemer too.  It has been my experience that most harley riders choose harley for the look and the image, not the ride.  Harley guys look at your chrome, beemer guys look at your odometer.  I have an '02 R1150R with just over 40k on the clock.  I know guys with harley twice that age with less than 10k on theirs.  Polish and try to look cool or bust out on the open road and twist through the canyons???  I know my choice.

Mathew
