Status: offline 		I was pointing out that claiming 100% where white was a lie. You do understand what a lie is don't you? I am also not trying to imply anything about the teabaggers. I haven't made it to a rally yet and don't have enough facts to make a judgement. Now I could just go ahead and claim they are all racist and not bother with things like facts, but that would be stupid and people would start thinking I was slipping to the left.

There's another note-worthy aspect of this rally, one that is perhaps quintessentially Democratic.

Protests at a non-political event to honor fallen soldiers.

One fact that people who got their opinion about Beck from other radio/TV personalities, rather than by listening to the guy themselves, will never believe is how non-political, and non-partisan, the guy is.

I'm not a real devotee, but I do find some of the historical stuff to be fascinating.

Now, you may want to see what you want to see on the surface. But, in reality, you and i both know politics is rarely about whats on the surface and is more about the undercurrents.

The speeches that day, on both sides, were filled with dangerous undertones and rip tides for undercurrents.

I am on Fet.

What I am seeing domiguy is a gnashing of teeth to find crumbs over which to grumble. Neither Beck nor his speakers gave the left meat upon which to whet their appetite. Instead they stuck to topic, requested political signs be left at home, and essentially used the event to do what they said they would do.

Instead of discussing that, we we discuss is everything else, the suppositions, the inferences that must be there because of who he is, but for some blasted reason, just can't find them. The tact at that point is usually to invent them.

If anything must be completely frustrating for the left, it isn't the size of the crowd, nor where it happened despite that little twit-fit. It is that he didn't launch into political sloganeering and bash liberals.

What have noted however, is the snarky happiness in which democratic operatives and protesters took the opportunity to introduce politics to a non-political event, one which they consistently portrayed those who attended as having a great potential for being violent, and one which they were allowed to protest at a rally for fallen soldiers without harm.

Fucking mind blowing, isn't it.

They have endorsed many a Dimocrat.

Ms. Cooper might have displayed some (feigned?) outrage at this "insult" from Beck, but Dr. Alveda King spoke at the event.
Perhaps Ms Cooper knows something Martins neice doesn't. Or maybe she's just seeing Al.

Im not digging for anything. I could have cared less then, and could care even less now, how this is all viewed.

What i did speak out about was how a poster in the UK, having seen clips of the rally on TV there, may have gotten the impression it was an all white gathering based upon what he was shown... though im sure you will find some way to spin that as well.

The NRA is a big political lobbying group. Beck and Palin have done nothing but bash Obama from the beginning.... and you really believe this wasnt political. I do love your rose colored glasses.

I have no rose colored glasses. I don't listen to Glen Beck. I'm looking at it as objectively as possible.

What I don';t have is piss colored glasses that I use to view anything conservative.

As far as spin goes, I'm laughing watching you folks go into tornadic depression trying to find some bitching point where you can toss one of your cards into the mix. And when it comes to what I believe and don't believe, what I believe is that it just sucks ass for the left that they stuck to topic and did what they said they were going to do.

But dems were there protesting at an event for fallen soldiers. That is not spin.

I didn't know until Lucy posted the collage of best anti pics at the rally.

Just curious as to why you're glad I'm not on Fet? Are there tons of people there too who argue points with little logic and a shit load of hypocrisy?
