I think my main point was about the massive potential argument on the definition of racism, and that these days it's mostly a perception, different people will think different things are/aren't racist, it's not something you can necessarily definitively declare in the same way you can say 'I'm not 6ft 2'. Simply googling definitions of racism gets you things such as: (boldings and brackets mine) The belief that races have distinctive cultural characteristics determined by hereditary factors and that this endows some races with an intrinsic superiority over others (depending on your interpretation of 'hereditary factors', this is very open to debate...is not culture hereditary?) discrimination on the basis of race, especially against blacks and other non-whites. (racism against white people is less racist?) Bear in mind that those are dictionary definitions, not even starting on all the bullshit individuals come up with...and the extreme wobblyness of the entire concept of 'race', and, IMO, it's near impossible to say something is/isn't racist authoritatively...even the BNPers insist most strongly that they're not racist. Racism is, IMO a meaningless label for people to argue over, and at best a percieved attribute attributed (or not) to something/someone by different observers, certainly not anything instrinsic. I am pretty confident there are things I have done or said (like perhaps posting that pic) that many many people would call racist, but I don't think anyone who knows me would suggest I am (although there are definitions of racism which include discrimination based on religion or culture, by which I am racist as all fuck)...I just think it's a meaningless argument in a word, and proclaiming your lack of it is akin to proclaiming that you're not mean.......I'm sure you've done things some would consider mean, I don't think anyone would think to argue particularly strongly if someone suggested they'd done or said something mean.....agree to disagree, matter of opinion....but say racist instead of mean, and it's a whole shitstorm. I am not really sure what my point is or was particularly, and I'm derailing your derailment, but possibly someone reading may sort of get my point. Anyways
