I think that's what I am going to make for Dinner, and I may e ven put elbow noodles in or maybe some other type of noodle, that's small and not spaghetti.

Try hamburger meat, rice, cream of mushroom garlic, and just a spoon full of instant coffee. I know. It sounds odd and off the wall, but its SO good. And filling. I call it Kitchen Fluff, since its made of random odds and ends.

My si[ni]ster used to make something similar, but with green beans instead of pasta. It's lower in carbs and tasted pretty good.

For the health concious, making your own cream of chicken is beter as you can leave out alot of the sodium or use unrefined salt. The canned stuff is full of sodium and who knows what else.

All in all I think it will be tasty. Another one pot meal involving pasta is macaroni and cheese with cubes of fried ham as the meat. In fact what you're talking about can be (and has) been done with cheese instead.

Kyttyn, I don't like mushrooms or cream of mushroom, but I may just try it in something where the taste wouldn't be that noticeable, as I have eaten it before and not known it lol.

Daddy got the greatest glee out of saying, " you ate mushrooms you ate mushrooms"

So what do you do with this odd mix cook it all in one pan or?

Daddy makes this baked mac and cheese and oh god is it gooooooooooooooood.

now is the mac and cheese you mention the stuff out of a box? Cause I can do that, but I wanted something a bit more special than open a box, pour and cook hehehe.

Topping, you do the ground beef and season it, drain it, and sit it aside. Do your rice, drain it too, and sit it aside. Now me, I dislike the texture of the mushrooms in the soup, so I water it down till its a kinda thick sauce, strain it so the mushrooms stay behind, toss them, and then mix whats left of the soup in with the beef and rice. Then mix it all in one pot or bowl or whatever. Add in more seasoning to your tastes, and like I said, one spoonful of instant coffee, or a couple splashes of premade coffee thats just been sitting in the pot all day. Oh, and you can either add in garlic powder, or dice fresh garlic. One or two cloves should be enough. lol.

"more special than open a box"

Deep fry it!  Deep frying makes all food items taste significantly better, lol!  [:D]

I've mixed cream of celery and cream of mushroom together. It sounds weird but tastes really good. Then just add ground beef, pasta or rice, onions, garlic, salt and pepper. Good one pot meal that's pretty quick, but still tasty.

I saw a recipe for deep fried macaroni and cheese. Never tried it myself, but it looked really good. LOL

Mmmm, this sounds dee-lish.  I love the taste of cream of mushroom soup but hate those little bits of shrooms.  Great idea to strain them out.  I am going to try your recipe this weekend, Kyttyn.

I love to mix cream of mushroom soup, cream of chicken soup, and a package of dried onion soup.  Add some minute rice, water, some chicken and bake it.  I've served it to people who do not like mushroom soup and they've loved it.

There is just so much you can do with cream of mushroom soup.  I sometimes make 2 cups of minute rice.  When the rice is done  I mix in the mushroom soup and a can of tuna.  Makes a great dinner and it's easy to make.

I sometimes put a can of tuna in mac and cheese also.

I would have to add mushrooms and onions to the mix, then you could serve it over rice. You could also add some broccoli or green beans if you feel the need for veggies.

Edited to add: ok, skip the mushrooms.

He's going to the store tonight after work with his mom,  and I will certainly post about how it tasted.

Last time I cooked I followed a friends recipe, and it wasn't as yummy as hers was, here's to hoping this will not disappoint!

SubPet, that's exactly what I am hoping it'll mimic, but with out all the hidden ingredients that boxed stuff comes with.

It might taste salty, I hope it won't be super salty, but you'll know damned well what's in it lol.
