Death penalty? Check! Handguns? Check! "Hello Kitty" vibrators? Bzzzzt! Banned in South Carolina, if a proposed bill is made law:
Lucy’s Love Shop employee Wanda Gillespie said she was flabbergasted that South Carolina’s Legislature is considering outlawing sex toys. But banning the sale of sex toys is actually quite common in some Southern states.
The South Carolina bill, proposed by Republican Rep. Ralph Davenport, would make it a felony to sell devices used primarily for sexual stimulation and allow law enforcement to seize sex toys from raided businesses.

Granted making things and using other things around the house is alot of fun. But DAMN. Seems everytime I turn around.... when it comes to sex..... we're being told NO... it's too much fun... there for you can not have that or do that!

I may not live in SC but i do live in NC it's sister state... and it seems to say that MOST Southern states are doing this. So far i've not heard about NC doing such a stupid thing. But subject to change I'm sure... hell we didn't even want the lottery here... guess what we got last month.. that stupid fucking lottery... so they can make people think it's for schools when it's till line the pockets of thieving politcal assholes.

Sorry... didn't meant to rant ... just this pist me off.... are others having these same problems?... I remembering someone on another thread.. South Dakota I believe.. said selling of bondage attire was against the law. Now another state is trying to bann sex toys. It's sort of like VA... they sell radar detectors all over the state... even in truck stops.. but lord help the trucker who gets stopped and a cop sees it mounted on dash... (I know I use to drive 18's... we would disconnect ours before going through scale house.. sometimes just through the whole damn state) Catch 22... you can buy and own... but you can't use.... WTF?????

I believe that about two years ago Georgia also outlawed gential piercings,, for women only. It amazes me how others can think we have achieved some semblance of "equality".

Kind of ridiculous isn't it. Sounds like Georgia has determined it's better to have it done by somebody with a safety pin that read about it somewhere, instead of in a sanitary environment by someone trained and licensed to do so. When are the politicians going to figure out they need to start repealing stupid laws on the books instead of just adding them...gezzzz? Damned, I'm getting really tired of being protected from myself, by people I wouldn't trust with my dog (and I don't even have a dog).

Well it's easire to make money off the news papers when they have what they think is a story. And then of course let's not forget the $$$ involved when one has to be charged for anothers death... because they used an unsterile needle... and someone got sick.. infected... and died. Keeping it all legal... there seems to be less $$$$$ involved.

thing i find strage is i have lived and continue to live in some of thes idiotic states, though i can say soon as we have the opertunity another one will be in the history file..  if course i never have done much of my shoping in brick and morter stores, i prefer the slection i can find online and delevered to my door, when ive lived in bama,ga, and tn ..

i honestly dont understand such legeslations, its a waste of resources and time i think personaly isnt there somethign better that could be being done then morality crusades..

As it stands right now we can expect more of this through the upcoming elections and in 2008. The cornerstone of the Bush campaign was 9/11/security and of course their version of "family values". As these days neither party has an original thought or proposal for an agenda the GOP will most likely stick with family values and the Dems will try to oppose whatever the GOP's stance is but only in "safe" areas. As we are seeing more and more mixing of religion and politics, anything to do with sex, reproduction and/or repression via Patriarchal/fundamentalist "values" is pretty assured. Really with the exception of Iraq (Halliburton/oil/Bush-grudge) and terrorism the entire neocon agenda has been about telling women what to do with our bodies, trying to overturn Roe-V-Wade, abstinence programs, persecuting gays and lesbians, outlawing porn, keeping erotic dancers away from clients, dildos, piercings, censorship online, Cable, TV and radio. Basically the old standby. Sex for reproduction purposes only within the confines of a church held wedding, between a male and a female, missionary position, done in the dark, under covers and thats it.

Very scary. But not totally unconscionable. If people haven't already figured this out, these morons that we put in positions of power do things to keep the system running. This is no worse than a teacher that gives students busy work to do instead of really reaching a class. If we continue to put morons in power we will reap the whirlwind of those choices. Now... there are few choices and I am on record saying that it is no longer the best man for the job, it is the lesser of two evils, but this is the kind of shit that I have come to expect.
