I think the stress is getting to Imam Obama. He seems a little on edge lately. Mid terms must be getting a little close ?

Ignorance must be bliss for you.

Youre projecting dear.

It apparently bothers you, though.

Even if this is the most widely used expression going, that I'm unfamiliar with, it remains the whine of the petulant, and a pathetic excuse of the incompetent.

Perhaps Julia will deign to offer her insights on nifty little insulting nicknames for a sitting President. I suspect it was "monkey see - monkey do" on her part, but the rationalizing might still be entertaining.

Vendaval -> RE: "They talk about me like a dog" (9/8/2010 2:55:51 PM)

Agreed, I interpret the comment along these lines,

"6. dogging 159 up, 219 down

Talking bad about another, whether you know them or not, put down/putting down, whether you know them or not, also known as capping.

Maybe this is a cultural problem, Rich.
I have used the expression: "talking about me like a dog", since I was around 13.
I can say it without thinking twice.

luckydawg -> RE: "They talk about me like a dog" (9/8/2010 3:06:51 PM)

Of course Dems want a leader who whines in Urban Hip Slang. It makes then happy.

I be keepen it Raheal, Dawg!!! Fo Shizzle!! Dey Be hatin on me. Doggin da Brothah!!

Moonhead -> RE: "They talk about me like a dog" (9/8/2010 3:12:41 PM)

He's probably just upset that he doesn't have his own media network: Bush had Fox, after all.

willbeurdaddy -> RE: "They talk about me like a dog" (9/8/2010 3:31:45 PM)

He certainly whines like a bitch that had her tail stepped on.

Vendaval -> RE: "They talk about me like a dog" (9/8/2010 3:47:16 PM)

I have heard the expression before from white Midwesterners, farmer types. Another common expression is "work like a dog", both seem in part to be a regional phrase.

luckydawg -> RE: "They talk about me like a dog" (9/8/2010 3:50:45 PM)

V you are the one who interprets it as "doging". And posted the link to the "Urban Dictionary".

Working like a dog is a totally different phrase.

Vendaval -> RE: "They talk about me like a dog" (9/8/2010 3:55:59 PM)

All have a negative connotation, "talk about me like a dog", "dogging", "work like a dog" etc.

(Slang and colloquialisms change and evolve, some start out as a regional term or expression and migrate and mutate.)

Moonhead -> RE: "They talk about me like a dog" (9/8/2010 3:56:12 PM)

Over here "dogging" means having sex with random strangers in public places. (The first definition on that UD page, which carries no racial bias whatsoever.) Maybe he just meant that there's something he's not telling Michelle?

luckydawg -> RE: "They talk about me like a dog" (9/8/2010 4:14:36 PM)

I thought about going there Moon, but decided not to.

Especially since Obama did not use the word "dogging" but the phrase "talking about me like a dog" which I would interpret as insulting.

No matter how you break it down he is whining in public and a disgrace.

servantforuse -> RE: "They talk about me like a dog" (9/8/2010 4:17:35 PM)

The phrase that Obama used has nothing to do with the phrase working like a dog. For Obama, golfing like a dog would be more fitting..

Sanity -> RE: "They talk about me like a dog" (9/8/2010 4:27:24 PM)

Vacationing like a dog, getting Nobel prizes he didnt earn like a dog...

The poor thing!

JstAnotherSub -> RE: "They talk about me like a dog" (9/8/2010 4:48:40 PM)

I am offended that he brought my dog into it.  I love my dog.  If I was talking about Obama like a dog, it would be complimentary.

I'd be more likely to talk about Obama like the neighbors cat.  Then I would understand his outrage.

I realize you aren't an American, Moon, or even on the same continent, but are you suggesting you are ignorant of ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN, and, not to be left out, the leg-quivering fan club at MSNBC?

thornhappy -> RE: "They talk about me like a dog" (9/8/2010 6:44:24 PM)

You mean Fox didn't report it?

(BTW, I only watch CNN in the mornings when I'm on the road, don't watch MSNBC, and am inflicted with Fox all day at work.)

flcouple2009 -> RE: "They talk about me like a dog" (9/8/2010 7:42:58 PM)

You people are hilarious.

Talk about me like a dog
    Treat me like a dog
    Work me like a dog

Those sayings are all "Old as the hills".  Oh wait I guess your all going to claim you've never heard that one either.
