Was so depressed, I didn't look.

wow thought we were high at 2.85 for the cheap stuff in NC.

Was wondering what it was on your side of the state... lol.... we're at a nice screwed up high of $2.94 here as of this weekend... and word is rumored to continue the rise... my car hasn't moved in 5 days now.

TxBadMan -> RE: Gas Prices (4/23/2006 3:27:44 PM)

Since a car is provided to me with work, I don't have to worry too much about gas prices. When not working, Tikk and I either walk or ride a bike anywhere we need to go.

1 gallon = 3.79 liters
we pay 95.9 per litre which is £3.63
Convert that to US dollars and we pay in the UK $6.47 per gallon

but what is minimum wage there?

also do most people drive or use mass transit?

gooddogbenji -> RE: Gas Prices (4/23/2006 3:28:30 PM)

I think this is God's punishment for SUVs....  Wonder how sales of those things are....

Gas prices near me are about $3.10 for regular gas...Yikes!

HisAvalon -> RE: Gas Prices (4/23/2006 4:05:34 PM)

Disregard my previous post...I just came back from running errands, and here in Yonkers, it's $3.24 for the low-grade stuff. Which, thankfully, is what I use. It's $3.54 for high-grade.

FootQueen -> RE: Gas Prices (4/23/2006 4:09:11 PM)

Ok, I made it out and back..lol found that in Glen Burnie it's $2.91-$2.99 p/g... closer to home it's $3.19 [>:] it really sucks. Just found out my son needs a ride to work at nights this week and that is up the beltway from me. That just shot my gas mileage all to heck. [sm=hair.gif]

MasterG2kTR -> RE: Gas Prices (4/23/2006 4:25:43 PM)

Just wanted to bring this to the front....it was at the end of the previous page....probably only got one or two viewings and didn't get any opinions or comments....

Here by me....$2.89 - $2.99 for regular.....that was yesterday anyway....

Funny that this thread should come up too....cuz I posed an online question to CNN yesterday asking if they could do a report on what it actually costs to produce a gallon of gas. They always tell us when the prices go up and what the average price is....but we never really know how badly we are being raped by the oil companies because nobody ever tells us the cost to produce. It should be like any other market commodity. The cost of raw materials, labor to produce, and add a modest profit. That is where the price should be derived. And another thing I would like to know is.....Who are all these idiots in the stock market  that are willing to keep buying oil at record prices? Don't they realize they are destroying their own economy? The cost of oil drives the cost of most other products, due to transportation costs and other related factors.

Anybody else got thoughts to add?

Lordandmaster -> RE: Gas Prices (4/23/2006 4:52:03 PM)

Around here it's $2.95-3.02 for regular.

MysticFireTopaz -> RE: Gas Prices (4/23/2006 5:04:04 PM)

This evening I did look at the prices at the station nearest My house.  Regular is $2.79 a gallon.  This is in suburban DFWorth area.

kissmekat -> RE: Gas Prices (4/23/2006 5:13:31 PM)

3.10 here in buffalo

EbonyFtshGoddess -> RE: Gas Prices (4/23/2006 5:18:58 PM)

a few days ago it was cheap.. only about $3.10 (at the cheapest station in my area).. yesterday it was $3.25 at the same station (that's 15 cents in like 3 days)..and it's only for the lowest grade. that particular station is currently at $3.55 for premium.

the most expensive station in my area is $3.55 for the lowest grade as of yesterday.. it goes up to like $3.70 or something. full service is averaging around $4.75+ depending what grade you get.

and i live in hollywod, CA

this is price gouging.. plain and simple. this is the same price gouging CA saw back when we had that fabricated energy crisis.. and we see it again. there is already bills and things to look into price gouging.  just now it's a country wide thing dealing with gas instead of one state being fucked for electricity.

Saratov -> RE: Gas Prices (4/23/2006 5:23:36 PM)

$2.75/gal for reg  by me in wichita KS.  Have got to put some a.c. on the motorcycle!

Just curious, what  are gas prices in your state or country.

Here in Kentucky, I paid 2.94 a gallon yesterday.

Just returned from Cali this morning :

Thursday - Rancho Mirage /Palm Dessert - Lowest price seen : 2.97 gallon

Friday & Saturaday - San Francisco / Marin - Lowest price seen : 3.04 gallon

Sunday - Oregon - Lowest price seen : 2.73 gallon

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

We need to shift the paradigm on this one, folks. What they're doing regards gas/oil, is the ultimate sucker punch thrown at the populace.

Well...you’re lucky. One way or another, you'll still end up feeling the reciprocal effects of high gas prices.

truesub4u -> RE: Gas Prices (4/24/2006 11:46:33 AM)

Utopian I know what you mean there.... I got a friend that lives in NC... and is in Fla right now working... Due to the price of gas he's been gone about 7 weeks  now.. instead of the 2-3 that he's usually gone at a time.... he doesn't pay for the gas... but right now.. neither is his boss... he's making him stay in Fla instead of being able to come home. He's due to come home the weekend of the 28th.. because one of his helpers needs to be here for court Monday the 1st.... the boss is threatening to send worker home on bus... instead of allowing them both to come home right now... even though he's been gone so long now.

mnottertail -> RE: Gas Prices (4/24/2006 12:11:16 PM)

Gas prices rise.  A barrel costs more.  Yet oil companies are posting record profits.  This is not rational. By the way, if you want to shell out the bucks, you can get all the gas you want, the shortage is only in your pocketbook..  Further, some are claiming ethanol costs are raising the price.  Corn has been worth about $2.50 dollars a bushel since christ was a corporal.

We are certainly being taken advantage of.  If we were to pump the money we are spending into Iraq into alternative fuel, we could be done with the whole shitoree in short order.
