No worries. These things happen. Just thought I'd mention it as you'd not noticed.

Where is Sanity?

I thought he wanted Obama to listen to the will of the people?

It must be tough being an independent these days.

I would bet many libs believed Gore when he said he created the internet. the private sector had nothing to do with it.

I'll take the bet. How much? $1000?

Actually, it was the result of conservatives, taking words our of context, and trying to make fun of it. Even after it was explained, they denied it all, as the fantasy was much better then the factual reality. Over the years, since the Clinton/Gore Administration, how often have conservatives, taken stuff out of context, changed it up, and tried to pawn it off as the 'original'? More times then it rains, in the Amazon Rain Forest!

how does some one explain spending more when one is already up to eye balls in debt? lets see I owe more than I make.....I know lets get another credit card and go shopping!

Because the upper 2% haven't been paying the same rate as the rest of us bottom 98% for 'a couple' of years now? In fact, they've been paying less, compared to us jokers making $55K/year. BP next year, will most likely not have to declare paying taxes in the US, even though its projected to reap several billion in profits, from world-wide operations.

If your up to your eye balls in debt, is that a fault of the goverment, or yourself? Last I checked the economic figures, the national debt was $2 Trillion at the close of the Clinton Administration, and headed towards a surplus just two years later. The G.W.Bush Administration closed with a $12 Trillion debt, and head towards a further debt beyond it. Since 50+, million people voted for Mr. G.W.Bush on two consective terms, that means, they are responsible for the $10 Trillion in debt. So if those who voted for Obama have to pay for the stuff, Mr. Obama does; then its fair, those who voted for Mr. Bush, pay $10 Trillion in debt from G.W.Bush, AND, the remaining $.8 Trillion left over from the G.H.W.Bush Administration.

I'm perfectly happy with that arrangement, THELADY. How about you?

Mr. Obama only owns, about $1.4 Trillion after 33 months. Want to take a guess how much Mr. G. W. Bush owned of the national debt, after the same amount of time? At the same time, during G.W.Bush's 1st term, we were already in Afghanistan, and gearing up for Iraq, over those 'Massive Stockpiles of WMDs".

our government has not only planned to tripple the debt(everyone complains about the debt under bush but nothing about trippling it under OB. AND ....the govet is sending billions to mexico for off shore drilling and billions to brazil for deepsea drilling (twice as deep as our wells) all the while they try to add tax and stop our people's jobs on the wells.

I've heard this 'triple the debt', from mostly conservative sources. Your telling me, there is an active conspiracy, within the DNC to turn $13 Trillion in to $39 Trillion, in under two years? Doesn't that sound just 'alittle' crazy? Or insane? If that is actually going on....Present the Evidence. I've learned with most conservatives; the lack of real, factual evidence, destroys their primary and secondary arguements. Doesnt, however, stop them from babbling the same nonsense over and over again.

Yes, the USA, is giving billions to Mexico; but you display a very unrealistic understanding of what that money is for. Part of it, is to fight the drug cartels currently at war with the Mexican goverment. Part of it, is to help economically disadvantage citizens; so they are not enticed to enter the USA illegally. That *IS* something you conservatives have been bitching about for a few months now. Some billions, go towards other economic and defense treaties and pacts the USA maintains, either through itself, or as part of the U.N.

hey joe......man, u really r deluded.
Gore is only where he is cos of his daddys money and connections. he leaves his mansion gets in his lemo and goes to his private jet and flies around the world telling us we have to reduce our carbon footprint ,live in smaller houses, drive smaller cars.....ahhh drive elect. cars....uhhhhh duh where does elect come from.....coal, carbon!!!!.
there' a leader to inspire one!

are u so deluded to think that only the republicans use bits of soundbites to spread lies? ROTFLMAO!!!!

joe, boy, do u really believe the top 2% don't pay as much as u do?
the top 10% pay almost half of the taxes the govt collects.
if u have a family of four do u actually pay or do u get a refund each year?

what the hell does BP have to do with this thread.??? ...among otherthings BP is a corpration not a person and second, BP is a foreign company, US has no claim on taxes on their worldwide investments.

the debt. it has been steadly climbing for ages. the national debt clock has risin steadly till bush came into office. the clock was turned off at that time cos the debt was falling, then the dems gained control and it was turned back on.

when carter was in the debt jumped 5 bill. ragen up 4 bill, clinton 3 bill. bush it jumped again, now its in the trillions.
since obama took office it has jumped from 8 trillion to 12 trillion.(u really ought to get ur numbers straight)

it is projected that at this rate by 2019 it will.be over 20 trillion, maybe 25.....lets see simple math, bush left 8 trillion and obama is projected to take it to 25 ..... 8x3=24... that is tripled isn't it?

this does not include fanny mae and fredie mac. they are estimated to be 5 trillion in the red. (they are now part of the govt) .... the federal home loan banks have 4 of their 12 banks solvent......the govt may have to put the others in conservertorship.....hummmm what will that do to the debt...humm?

I never said I was in debt, I was using an anology.

this is not just one party doing this, it is progressives in both parties. it is out of control.and must stop.

go google wiki national debt....

TheLady is ignoring reality in favor of rampant projection.

The 2009 budget was still Bush's, of course, and the 2010 budget a reflection of the steps--arguable, but be real--dealing with that economic situation. Obama's 2011 budget in fact shows a decrease, yet she's running with wild projections.

No point in a discussion uninterested in looking at any real numbers.

Reagan quadrupled national debt, taking us from the largest creditor nation in the world to the largest debtor nation. Why? TheLady ignores revenue. Reagan and Bush liked to spend without anyway to pay for those expenditures, burning the economy away at both ends.

Stuff costs money. That's how it works in reality. And magic tax cuts don't make reality disappear.

But then, people have long since become disinterested in reality in favor of blind partisan rationalization.

Still doesn't make it magically happen, though. Just means the rationalizations keep getting more bizarre.

Like, say, Buffett and Soros and Gates?

Republicans don't know shit about business either. They only know that when you have a surplus, you should cut taxes, and when you have a deficit, you should cut taxes. During a boom, it's important to cut taxes, but when there's a recession, you must cut taxes. Don't worry about the revenue--the magic tax cut fairy will create the money. Oh, and while you do this, increase spending--especially on large foreign entanglements and new redundant bureaucracies to pretend you're protecting the homeland, all while creating new long term structural deficits.

Oh, and when sticking to an outmoded business model doesn't work (something ANYONE who knows shit about business knows is a rookie mistake), blame the government for your lack of business sense, foresight, adaptability, and market adjustment. Get them to subsidize you, especially if you're clinging to a large outmoded business model. Innovation, growth, change and new markets are for leftists. Let them research and develop new technologies and bring them to market. Just rape the treasury instead--no need for business savvy.

Republicans. Always looking backwards. Solutions for problems other than what we have.

Return to the past. A Republican's view of progress.
