ORIGINAL: jlf1961 Well lets see, the Repubs pushed TARP in 2008, and the first of the so called stimulas packages before Obama and the current crop of dems were even in congress... Then the Repubs have voted no on every measure sent to congress, including repealing DADT, which if repubs are really for gay rights makes no sense. Well, let's consider the FACTS. In 2008 the Democrats controlled Congress, conservative Republicans opposed TARP and Obama, Reid and Pelosi not only were in Congress but all voted "AYE" for TARP. In 2009 the Democrats still controlled Congress, Republicans pushed using left over TARP funds to pay down the deficit but Obama, Reid, Pelosi and the current crop of Dems all pushed using left over TARP funds to stimulate the economy. Then Obama, Reid and Pelosi have repeatedly told the Republicans to "Shut up and stay out of the way!" and/or "We won!", including repealing DADT, which if dems really support our troops is hypocritical. I really like your revisionist history. Tarp was introduced by Bush, voted FOR by an OVERWHELMING NUMBER OF Republicans, and the Republicans have been stonewalling DADT since Obama first called for its repeal. Sen. McCain even backpedaled from his "I will vote to repeal Dont Ask Dont Tell if the secretary of defense calls for it," to actually being against repealing DADT. You really need to get your facts straight, but why should I expect you to tell the truth about anything that happened during the Bush years. Better Lucky? You do know that the votes for TARP are public domain, and factcheck.org is very clear about the whole vote, INCLUDING the Republicans who voted FOR Tarp and now claim to have voted against it.
