I did read it, I also saw this

$870,616
(1999 - Present)

They gave almost an equal amount to both parties (according to your information), and then they turned around, and gave more than they have in the last 11 years to one party....

Here is more about their total contributions

Stupid bastards.

It reminds one of how poor white southerners were willing to support slavery because they were convinced the system would privilege them... people can be convinced to support things that are precisely against their own particular interests if you couch it in the right way... poor ignorant bastards

I gave it in post 10.

Not much surprise you didn't bother to look at it.

wierdly enough all those stories (on oyur link) are about the same event. and most are from partisan leftie blogs.

None are an anaylsis of contributions (like the one I gave)

That link is about the contributions made by News Corp employees. Not about money donated by the corporation.

luckydawg -> RE: Tea Party Radicals - Astro Turf Manipulation (9/19/2010 4:52:35 PM)

well if anyone was thinking aboutr trusting Julia, don't. check the links.

35% and 44% are hardly "almost an equal ammount" the dems got 44%

And she retarts with an editorial from a (hold on this is a shocker folks) LEFT WING BLOG.

Which apperantly believes (correctly I guess) that its readers are so stupid they will think that the Republican Govenors Association is a "public official". and that a crime has been comitted.

It has been demonstrated that some weak minded pasty folks are that stupid

juliaoceania -> RE: Tea Party Radicals - Astro Turf Manipulation (9/19/2010 4:56:14 PM)

I posted an entire series of articles listed on google from wide and diverse media outlets that reported the same story..

You are a liar, lucky, and a poor one at that

I used the FOAD button on him. Nothing worth reading, just bobblehead wingnut droolings.

luckydawg -> RE: Tea Party Radicals - Astro Turf Manipulation (9/19/2010 5:02:49 PM)

Thank You Domken, I was incorrect. I misread the title of the table.

However the idea that Fox only gives to Republicans is false.

And the idea that other Major Media doesn't have a bias in giving is false.

Fox does give more to Republicans.

And CNN, CBS, ABC, give more to democratics.

I changed it to make it more accurate according to their new contribution policies

TheHeretic -> RE: Tea Party Radicals - Astro Turf Manipulation (9/19/2010 5:11:33 PM)

Well, then, let's recap (at least a little) of what was lost, Julia. You have never been to one of these events and prefer to regurgitate opinion from partisan sources. You also were looking for any comment from anyone you could somehow interpret as being a personal attack.

That about cover it?

luckydawg -> RE: Tea Party Radicals - Astro Turf Manipulation (9/19/2010 5:12:17 PM)

yes, you do lie julia. You changing reality to fit your ideological needs is rather well documented.

Its apperantly an emotional need.

Data collected by CQ Moneyline shows that News Corporation, through its political action committee, has contributed over $105,500 to Democratic candidates in the 2010 election cycle, while donating $74,700 to Republicans during the same time period. News Corporation's PAC has also donated $7,500 to Democratic-affiliated leadership PACs and $14,500 to GOP-related PACs. News Corporation, owned by Rupert Murdoch, has also given a total of $45,000 to other Democratic and Republican committees.

On the Democratic side, that includes $30,000 to the Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee and $15,000 to the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee. As for Republicans, News Corporation donated $30,000 to the National Republican Congressional Committee and $15,000 to the National Republican Senatorial Committee.

I do have opinions based upon the candidates that are being backed by the tea party and their funders. I have never been to a republican meeting either...why do I need to have meet tea party people in the meat world to get a grasp of what they stand for, I see plenty of you representing them on this forum and on other internet sites, which confirms some of the suspicions I have about them....

How many green party meetings have you been to? How many democrat meetings?

juliaoceania -> RE: Tea Party Radicals - Astro Turf Manipulation (9/19/2010 5:18:57 PM)

And they gave 10 times that amount to Republican governor candidates[8|]

luckydawg -> RE: Tea Party Radicals - Astro Turf Manipulation (9/19/2010 5:22:33 PM)

Which makes your claims of "ONLY" false.

it's cute.

Yes, sarcasm is known as the refuge of the weak.

Slavehandsome -> RE: Tea Party Radicals - Astro Turf Manipulation (9/19/2010 5:52:42 PM)

Its important that either side highjack the original Tea Party. Back when it was formed, members were former Dems and Repubs, all of whom wanted to backhand the same corporate politicians. Its easy to highjack a grassroots movement when you own the media and that media will spin the new direction of the Tea Party in whatever direction that media wants them in. Its good to know who the new corporate sponsors are.

thornhappy -> RE: Tea Party Radicals - Astro Turf Manipulation (9/19/2010 5:54:40 PM)

FR:

Personally I think that no media company should make political contributions to anyone.

Regarding contributions (after the $1 million contribution by Fox to the Republican Governor's Association:

Bloomberg was the first to report the contribution, based on the RGA's Internal Revenue Service filings. A review of the News Corporation IRS filings by CNN shows that a subsidiary of the company called News America Inc. made additional donations to both Democrats and Republicans in the 2010 election cycle, including $50,000 to the Democratic Attorneys General Association and $65,000 to the Republican State Leadership Committee. Those committees, as well as their Democratic counterparts, are 527 groups, meaning they are not subject to campaign finance contribution limits. While News Corporation has used its political action committee to shower Democrats with campaign contributions, the total of those donations is dwarfed by the $1 million check it cut to the RGA.

A corporation's PAC is subject to a maximum spending limit of $5,000 per candidate per year and $15,000 per political party per year.

News Corporation is not alone among media corporations who donated to political parties and candidates, ultimately raising the issue of whether media companies and politics should mix.

"This is one piece of the puzzle that the public should consider when they are viewing coverage of politics," said Sheila Krumholz, executive director of the Center for Responsive Politics.

General Electric, which owns NBC, has also made substantial political contributions in the 2010 election cycle. For example, GE donated $688,900 to Democrats through its PAC this election cycle compared to $410,100 to Republicans. The company has also given $75,500 to Democratic-affiliated leadership PACs and $74,500 to Republican-affiliated leadership PACs.

Meanwhile, GE has donated $237,000 to the Democratic Governors Association and $205,000 to the Republican Governors Association.

The PAC of Time Warner, the parent company of CNN has given $70,500 to Democratic candidates in the 2010 election cycle compared with $41,500 to Republicans. Time Warner also donated $5,000 to the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee.

The political action committee for Viacom, the parent company of CBS, has contributed $108,700 to Democratic candidates this election cycle and $64,000 to Republicans, according to CQ Moneyline. The PAC has also contributed $22,000 to Democratic-affiliated leadership PACs and $21,500 Republican-affiliated leadership PACs. Viacom also donated $4,000 to the Pennsylvania Democratic Party last April.

And Disney, the parent company of ABC, has given $110,500 to Democratic candidates and $95,000 to Republicans through its PAC. It has also donated $16,000 to Democratic-affiliated leadership PACs and $20,000 to Republican-affiliated committees. Disney has also given $11,000 to Democratic Party PACs and $20,000 to Republican Party PACs.

Tell me, who coined the term "tea party", what is their organizational history? Who were the original leaders? What are their backgrounds?

I keep hearing tea partyiers assert that they are a grassroots organization, if that was so, why don't those of you asserting this have a background about the movement? Those co-opted movements you speak of have leaders, a history, and it can be documented.

servantforuse -> RE: Tea Party Radicals - Astro Turf Manipulation (9/19/2010 5:57:32 PM)

Labor unions will be spending 100 million in this Falls election. Are they radical, or maybe not since it isn't their money.
