I did thumb through it, but I must have missed the cases where DNA or some other forensic evidence was shown to be wrong.  Please tell me where they are so I can read them.

DomYngBlk -> RE: Murder vs. Adultery (9/22/2010 11:19:01 AM)

And of course DNA is never adulterated at the scene. Mark Fuhrman?

Second that...so now I will assume I can continue to hold the views I hold on Capitol punishment?

Third.

The death penalty has been proven time and time again to NOT be a deterrent in capital crimes, it has aready been shown by Julia to cost far more than incarceration, and it makes us a nation of barbarians, no better than the perpetrators of the crimes themselves.

Gotta love a place that executes mentally handicapped people. [8|].  This isn't the wild wild west and cowboy nation is over.  The asshole from Texas has left the building.

Aynne, I don't think the death penalty was supposed to be a "deterrant" to make other people behave themselves but a "punishment" for the offender.
It's pretty obvious that anyone who thinks that it's a deterrant is wrong with all the killing going on.
I fail to see what purpose it would serve to have Ted Bundy or that clown guy from Illinois (can't remember his name) still in prison to this day.
And, if you remember Bundy escaped from prison twice!
In cases like that there's no doubt of guilt.
But yes, we do need to do something to protect innocent people from being executed , give them "life" to start with and if there is evidence to prove their innocense let them go with a big fat check so that they can buy a yellow corvette, a house on Sebago and live the high life.
If they're proved guilty they get a "promotion" to the death penalty. And have it public like the old days when they had public hangings.
You could make a "day" of it, hotdogs, games for the kids, frisbees, baloons, radio stations could do a "remote" " (WRKO, comming to you today from the gallows on Boston Common brought to you by Olson Cadillac of Woburn, Mass, Howie Carr drives one of our cars!") and you could have like an "anchor pool" on when the guy dropped, and maybe win a new Cadillac from Olson Cadillac!
And for better "action" don't let the guy "drop" but just kick a chair out from underneith him and watch as he does some "skywalking."
I don't know why they do executions in private. Lots of people would like to see them public. "Mark Twain" saw his "first hangin'" at age 12.

DYB, are you saying that was Mark Fuhrman's dna?

DomYngBlk -> RE: Murder vs. Adultery (9/22/2010 11:31:00 AM)

I am saying mr fuhrman and the lapd fucked up the dna that was there. Who knows whose it was

Lol, I didn't know that you could "fuck up" dna. I know you can burn it. But, even if you were to mix two blood samples together they could still get two sets of dna. from it.

DomYngBlk -> RE: Murder vs. Adultery (9/22/2010 11:42:46 AM)

Pops you need to read more.

DYB, they could put two blood samples in a blender and still get two dna samples from it. Do you think the two sets of dna would "merge" with each other or something?
"Hey wait a minute! O.J. and Mark Furman didn't do this crime! This is BILL CLINTON's dna!

mnottertail -> RE: Murder vs. Adultery (9/22/2010 1:34:43 PM)

having mark furhman and bill clintons dna mixed together is reasonable doubt.

nice case, Perry.

Ham Burger.  (LOL.  Hamilton Burger, but he was always ground up when done).

Owner59 -> RE: Murder vs. Adultery (9/22/2010 1:48:57 PM)

Funny how the cons don`t figure in the cost of killing innocent people, in their lust for revenge and blood.

Dollars aren`t the only factor in whether we should use CP or not.

mnottertail -> RE: Murder vs. Adultery (9/22/2010 2:00:43 PM)

what the fuck, why wouldn't we use canadian pacific?

neo-con ron (a non-cuckold, although I would cuck the fuck out of another, no sweat)

I didn't realize OJ had finally been convicted based on that evidence.

Yay!!!

Is Scott Peterson recent enough for you, Tazzy? Sentenced to death in 2005 on nothing but circumstantial evidence.

Who cares if it is a deterrent or not, Aynne? It's a rock solid guarantee against repeat offenders. I've already said that some things are worth the price. As for it making us barbarians, I completely disagree. To allow such criminals to live marks us as cowards, and traitors to the victims of the most heinous crimes.

I think we should be using the death penalty a lot more often than we do.

Vendaval -> RE: Murder vs. Adultery (9/22/2010 9:14:17 PM)

That one hits really close to home, Rich. I know people here in town who went to school with both the victim and the perp. Laci is always described as being very sweet and kind. Scott is described as being a real underhanded and shifty guy. [>:]

I recall that case quite well.

And they did have DNA evidence in that case. Guess you missed that part.

http://articles.sfgate.com/2003-11-18/bay-area/17518054_1_laci-peterson-peterson-s-boat-scott-peterson

A disputed form of DNA testing done on a hair found on Scott Peterson's boat can be used as evidence that the former fertilizer salesman killed his pregnant wife and dumped her body in San Francisco Bay, a judge ruled Monday.

Judge Al Girolami of the Stanislaus County Superior Court said he would allow mitochondrial DNA testing on a hair found on Peterson's boat, which Peterson said he took to the Berkeley Marina on a solo fishing trip Christmas Eve, the day Laci Peterson was reported missing.

TheHeretic -> RE: Murder vs. Adultery (9/22/2010 10:28:55 PM)

That one is tough, Ven. Everybody "knows" he did it, but there isn't any smoking gun, much less a bragging confession to the media, called in collect from jail. The circumstances are hellacious and damning, but still circumstantial. He could, could, just because it's a universe of infinite possibilities, be nothing but the unluckiest, shitty person alive.

I think there is only one punishment for a man who commits that crime. Maybe, in a case like this, the 25 odd years, the million$ more of legal costs, appeal after appeal, is the right way to do it. Or maybe (and I hate the idea), he winds up with less than he deserves because, having a death penalty obligates us to make sure we put down the right person.

TheHeretic -> RE: Murder vs. Adultery (9/22/2010 10:43:31 PM)

Tazzy, they had a hair. I won't get sucked in to playing devil's advocate for this very shitty human being. A hair in the van of a complete stranger, a hair stuck to a bloody knife (or bloody pair of pliers), a hair in the fingernails of the victim. These are evidence.

Today I found one of my wife's hairs hanging from the bottom of my coffee cup when I got to work, and another tangled around the little knife that lives in the console. They mean nothing more than that I really need to vacuum my car. Married people have each others cooties.

Go back to my original statement. Re-read what i wrote. Naaa... allow me...

Was there or was there not DNA evidence in this case?

Pops, DNA isn't like a set of car keys. You put it in a blender and it is going to break down.
