Sarah Palin obtained a protective order Monday against an 18-year-old Pennsylvania man who sent her receipts from a gun purchase, along with a letter saying “he tried to follow the Bible but had evil and wickedness in him.”

Palin, 46, filed the request in Anchorage District Court against Shawn R. Christy, a man she says began stalking her by e-mail and phone since the summer of 2009. Palin’s friend, Kristan Cole, 48, filed for and received a similar protective order against Christy./snip

Pelisi is pretty much batchit crazy too. Just the other way from Palin. If the Dems had any sense a couple of years ago, they would have picked a speaker that was a bit more centrist.

They did, surely? She's a lot more centrist than Gingrinch (which isn't exactly difficult, to be fair...)

As Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi has full Secret Service protection.  If someone tried to make such a threat against her, 1) she would have never seen it and 2) that person would have been "visited" by the Secret Service (if not arrested) almost immediately.

Palin is (under the law, technically) a private person, but is news-worthy, hence the report of her filing for an order.

If y'all would just THINK instead of posting your predictable, mind-less, knee-jerk reactions, this thread would've never been started AND this forum would be a better place to visit!  [Defensive shields: UP!]

I imagine many law makers gets threats of every kind. Most not serious. The SS must spend countless man hours following up and designating who`s potentially serious and who`s not.

A person tho would be crazy to ask for that kind of trouble.

Lets suppose- a person dies a hero.  BIG DEAL.

So one has everything to lose- and almost nothing to gain.

I think its just a hypocrit in the spot light. As a leader or sorts, for the Tea Party, she has been bashing the concept of 'big goverment' for months. Now, she goes to that 'big goverment', to protect her from one stalker, who could be anywhere in the country. A small goverment would have had an increbibly hard time locating the guy. So yes, the 'big' and 'evil' goverment is protecting Sarah Palin. And will it get any 'thanks' for the effort? Course not!

Where is her army of Tea Party members with their guns? Doesn't Sarah also have a shotgun?

- not many 18 year olds have the cash to go from PA to Alaska.

Heck- not many on this board could afford to go to Alaska.
