Silver/gold are doing well.  Too well.  The increase indicates that they are losing control of things and that is scary.

You know what Popeye, you never hear the democrats telling voters how good the health care bill is either. Since they voted for it, you think they would be bragging agout it. Instead, not a peep..

Tazzy, be patient, we're going to see the *real poll* in about 33 days.
Servant, yes, they had to "pass the Bill first" to,....." see what's in it!" LOL!
It's amazing that the Democrats can manage to piss off 70% of the American People with one Bill.

I would like to buy more.   I have some rebates coming- and this month- I do not have a heat bill.  So- I might be able to pick up some more junk silver.  I dont want to cut it too close tho.  (as car insurance is due)

I am starting to get worried about food inflation.   The fed says there is not enough inflation.  But they are going by home prices- not the cost to run a household.   Home prices went down- but costs to live have gone up.  They are getting obvious with package shrink.   Russia not selling wheat-  that will effect us as it puts a strain on things.

I wonder if they will talk about the "achievement" of 30,000 McDonald's workers losing their coverage unless they receive a waiver from provisions of the new law.

Republican nominee Pat Toomey is leading Rep. Joe Sestak, the Democrat's nominee, 45 percent to 42 percent among likely voters in the Keystone State's race for Senate, according to a Susquehanna Polling and Research survey conducted for the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review. Toomey's three-point lead falls within the margin of error.

http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2010/09/30/new-poll-indicates-sestak-within-reach-of-toomey/

A real steamroller event!

Well, we were talking about the House, but this race is 49/40 on Rasmussen, little changed from 2 weeks ago. Toomey, defending a solid Dem seat, isnt closing any ground.

I do so enjoy visiting your fantasy world.

Now, back to reality.

Reality is that you wont support your fantasies. $100 wager (all you can afford Im sure, if that)

Dems retain control - you win
Republicans take control by 3 or less seats - draw
Republicans take control by 4 or more seats - I win.

Personally, I hope the Republicans take control.  Over the past 50 years or so, the country has tended to run more smoothly and been more prosperous when the POTUS is of one party and congress controls the other.

Seems that they aren't as likely to get a wild hair up their butt and do something stupid.

It has run more smoothly when the GOP has been in control, regardless of the party of the POTUS.

I'm very excited about the 2010 election: it's unlikely to be quite as hilarious as the one in 2008, but it's promising to be at least as funny as Four Lions...

1961 to 1968 Democrats controlled everything. unprecedented propsperity.
1969 to 1976 Mixed government. stagflation.
1977 to 1980 Democrats controlled everything. stagflation brought under control. Economy started to recover.
1981 to 1992 Mixed government. US goes from the nation owed money by the rest of the world to the largest debtor on the planet.
1993 to 1994 Democrats control everything. begins pulling out of the Bush I recession
1995 to 2000 Mixed government. the only time mixed government seems to have worked.
2001 to 2006 Repubs control everything. Housing bubble almost destroys teh western economy
2007 to 2008 Mixed government. paralysis with nothing that needed doing getting done except the absolute minimum.
2009 to present democrats control everything. We've bottomed out of the Bush II depression and started making improvements.

I think your opinion fails to take the facts into account

the real world looks accounted for willbur, you seem to have to live in a world of your own, but I am sure this can all be explained by your acute understanding of the laffer curve.

I vehemently disagree with the statement that it is everyone's duty just to go out and "do the process" to vote.
It is their responsibility to EDUCATE themselves FIRST, and IF they don't care about things... If they don't have any reason to go through the motions of voting -- then STAY the heck away from the polls!

Our democratic republic -- our way of life -- is TOO important to have idiots screw it up in some "popularity contest".
This isn't like voting for Prom King/Queen.
Or who looks more dashing in a suit.
Or who has the chance to "make history".

Some elections have been thrown by as little as one vote per district.

If someone chooses apathy -- that is ALSO their RIGHT. Leave them alone.
