I've voted in every election, including the special elections. Local, state and federal! Its important to vote, even if your candiate doesn't have a prayer of winning. Because if you dont, then you have ZERO grounds to complain about anything until the next election. quote:
ORIGINAL: pahunkboy We are owned by big corporations. Only if we allow them to! We are the ones that create laws THEY have to abide to. When enough Americans get tired of the sh*t, corporations dish out, they typically push bills through Congress. The financial reform bill that just went through is an example of it, In one manner, it prevents companies from doing the same tactics Goldman Sachs did earlier this year. The Health Care Bill passed even earlier, has many benefits that force companies to comply with American's wishs. The Source! Traditionally, pahunkboy, Republicans have been for deregulation, and Democrats for more regulation. So far, that tradition has not changed as we go in to this next election. But do go and vote. Its not just your right and privilage; its your duty as an American citizen! Ask those around you, if they are voting. If they need help getting to the polling location, offer to help.
