Same stuff happened at this month's Iowa State Fair. Colorado has had similar stuff as has Philadelphia and elsewhere. Katie Couric hasn't mentioned this...wonder why? Former TV weatherman victim of unprovoked attack quote: Former WCIA and WILL weatherman Mike Sola shows the injuries he received as the latest victim in a string of beatings in Champaign of white men by young black men that has been dubbed 'polar bear hunting.' Attacks on the rise; similar beatings reported in 2008 quote: CHAMPAIGN – The number of reports of beatings to white men in Champaign appear to be coming in quicker than police can even process them.

This is a VERY old practice. Google Yaweh bin Yaweh aka Hulon Mitchell. "Spiritual leader" in Miami in the late 80's. They didnt just beat up random white men. they killed them and kept souveniers.

It boasts the three r's ........ rural, redneck, and racist. The only worthwhile thing there is the University of Illinois campus, and there is no love lost between the locals and the college students. So my guess is there is more to the story than what has been reported. But let's face the reality of why this was posted. Ok- this guy took karate, grew up on the south side of Chicago- and had brothers beat him up. That would not explain how he lost track of what went on behind him. Any one in a city knows to be alert as to what is BEHIND you.

FR I call BULLSHIT on the OP and the Philadelphia portion of his post, I live in South Jersey, about 17 miles East-Southeast, of Philly. My electronic (tv-radio) news media is Philly. My newspaper is the Philadelphia Inquirer. I also read The Philadelphia Daily News. NOWHERE IN ANY OF THOSE HAS THIS BEEN MENTIONED. When will people learn to research this kind of allegation a little better? Incredulously, Some Knucklehead in NJ

I don't know what is worse: People beating someone up for being from a certain ethnic background or the media using such acts to create an atmosphere of fear and loathing? You can deal with this as a simple hate crime but why the media circus and the names for the violent gang games? What lies behind that is more sinister.

On a half-way relevant note... "Stop black on black crime" garners 47,000 results on google. I'd rather all of those just say "Stop crime". I don't like fear campaigns but I also don't like people ignoring the fact that both sides of the fence get disadvantages. One more so than others though. Race will always be an issue in this country and it's an issue that will always be used by people to manipulate others.

People have been targeted for violent acts because they Were Black Hispanic Gay Female For living on 1st street instead of 2nd etc..... and Yes, even white people have been targeted because they were white. I have a loathing for any person or group of person that would do one of these acts. All who perform such acts deserve far worse than they will ever receive.
