Fox News sued by the EEOC - 10/2/2010 6:05:32 AM

Status: offline 		WASHINGTON – Federal authorities are suing the Fox News Network for allegedly retaliating against a reporter after she complained about unequal pay and job conditions based on her gender and age.

The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission says Fox News Channel reporter Catherine Herridge filed an internal complaint about allegedly discriminatory practices in 2007.

Fox found no evidence of bias, but the EEOC says the network later included language in Herridge's employment contract intended to stop her from making any more complaints.

Herridge refused to sign the contract. The network agreed to remove the language after she complained to the EEOC.

The EEOC seeks unspecified monetary damages and a court order enjoining Fox from retaliating against other employees.

Fox News is "fair and balanced".

At least that's what they keep telling me every time I watch.

Since it is probably every corporation in America then it should be easy for you to come up with some examples and tell us the outcomes of those suits.

What I asked was for Servant to back up his claim and provide the details.

I'm tired of doing searches to verify other posters' statements.

Just like in your case, where you gave me a laundry list without one single source to tell me where you found this information.

Every company Ive ever worked for with more than 30 employees has had at least one EEOC complaint/investigation while I worked there. (Yes, including one against me for firing a pregnant woman - she lost).

I spent 7 years in a company with 150 employees. No EEOC there.

I spent 7 years in a company with 150 employees. No EEOC there.

Same with me, only it was 4 different companies for a total of 11 years.

Rule, you are correct.


Popeye you need to elaborate, because that seems backwards to me.

What someone does in public office may or may not affect me.

Someone I hire to attend  to my personal or business matters will definitely affect me.
