TickledToDeath -> Gags (10/2/2010 3:03:08 PM)

Tried ball gags, rags stuffed in mouth. Not wanting to use duct tape by itself.
Need a gag that will completely muffle and silence one who is very loud while being tickled mercilessly!
What would work. Not sure what to try next.

Thanks for the help.

No gag works completely....

But that's hot, too - muffle works well with struggle.

Focus.

I'm with Focus on this one.  You're not going to find anything that is going to eliminate the noise emitted completely just from a gag.

If noise is a big problem (thin walls, close neighbors, etc) I'd probably look more at doing some minimal soundproofing of your play room.  Yes, more expensive than a gag, but absolutely more effective for certain situations.

You could try bondage tape - it wraps around your head and mouth and is pretty effective, without having the issue of trying to get duct tape off your skin!  But nothing will muffle completely.

A pillow over the face until they stop moving???

GotSteel -> RE: Gags (10/2/2010 7:46:44 PM)

The only thing I've seen that did much in the way of reducing sound was to really fill the mouth with cloth and then rap tape around the mouth and that still didn't get anywhere near what you're looking for. Most gags don't do much if anything to reduce sound. Generally they make it harder to understand what she's screaming, give her something to chew on and keep her from biting you.

ResidentSadist -> RE: Gags (10/2/2010 9:14:15 PM)

A gas mask will quiet (not silence) you down and still let you breath.  Trying to silence laughter using headgear without suffocating someone is going to be very impractical.  Unless you wanna' buy scuba gear, a large water tank and have your tickle sessions underwater, you're gonna' have to put up with some laughter.

And that's the best part!

Those little feminine muffled slurpy squeals ...

White noise machine, and a radio/stereo and a tv. You want to layer sounds so nobody can identify them. If they ask, just say it was some action movie. Also towel under the door.

DomImus -> RE: Gags (10/3/2010 10:24:56 AM)

After watching a jillion bdsm videos the most effective gag I have ever seen used is a large rag stuffed tightly into the mouth (were talking almost too much to fit stuffed so that no more will fit)) and then taping over that with several wraps until the lips are completely covered and sealed. It's not total silence but it seems to do the job far better than all of the alternatives. Most gags serve more of a humiliation factor than a silencing factor... the main reason I like them, actually.

MistressRouge -> RE: Gags (10/3/2010 10:38:31 AM)

Inflatable butterfly gags, are totally effective.

pdv99 -> RE: Gags (10/3/2010 10:46:48 AM)

Won't silence completely, but a small ball or bit gag, or rag in the mouth, topped by a full head leather hood with just a small breathing hole will muffle things pretty well.

They work fairly well, but I'd stop short of "totally effective".  I've got one that I modified with a strap over the mouth that the pump tube passes through and it's still fairly easy to make noise with it.  Your neighbors in a house next door might not hear you if you're wearing it, but those in the next bedroom or apartment next door still might.

A good gag + masking noise = best option.

Agreed. Not to be the safety police or anything, but it seems to me that stuffing a rag into someone's mouth, taping their mouth shut, and then tickling them is a good way to make them choke (or worse, vomit), esp if they take a convulsive breath and suck a corner of the rag into their throat. I love gags, but not every type is going to work on everyone. For me, any kind that forces something into the back of my throat is pretty much guaranteed to produce an involuntary roman shower. MistressRouge -> RE: Gags (10/3/2010 1:18:04 PM)

Well the one I own is totally effective.

Ok muffles & grunts can be heard, but with it filling the mouth and both cheeks I feel it is the best gag for the job.

Try using hoods

Rochsub2009 -> RE: Gags (10/3/2010 1:44:53 PM)

The vocal chords are actually in the throat, not in the mouth.  So nothing is going to stop them from making sound.  That's why you can hum with your mouth closed (and you can do it pretty loudly if you try).

The most effective thing that I've found is stuffing the mouth (with panties, but that's because it was a Domme doing it), then taping it shut.  A hood over that will also help.  But there is no such think as sound-proof torture.......unless your sub/slave is a deaf mute.  [;)]

BTW. ball gags look good, but they really don't do very much.  In fact, they're pretty much worthless in terms of having any actual effect on anything.

OK, I just gotta say from the non-kinky guy... I love collarme. where else could I go and find a detailed discussion on the practical sound muffling capabilities of gags?

Yes, vital information. [:)]

Edited to make this post worthwhile: Scarf gags are [sm=hearts.gif].

ranja -> RE: Gags (10/4/2010 1:41:17 AM)

peg the trap shut, 4 pegs should do it... not completely silent, she might still mmmmmmmmoan of course... and then there is your own laughter when you look at her pegged face
