ORIGINAL: Aneirin Perhaps this might illustrate some of my thoughts ; http://rt.com/Best_Videos/2010-10-06/xenophobia-america.html A piece by the Russian government propaganda network? Are you serious? Firm You know, I am coming to the conclusion that what was said on the TV version of that website today when discussing the role of impartial corporate owned media, what news America gets, is totally different from what the rest of the world gets, which leads me to the thought, the majority of US people who just watch tv and think they are getting the lowdown on what is happening in the world amounts to no more than brainwashing. Something that was coined in the programme, wmd's, weapons of mass distraction to keep you from seeing the real world. But your reference to what I posted as being a Russian government propaganda network, tell me, did you listen to what they had to say, or just plain dissmiss it when you googled the web address ? I tell you what, take a look at the news as it is reported in other countries and compare that with what you are shown on tv, see if there is a difference. perhaps then you might understand where I am coming from when I say what I say about world events when they are presented in the US,m for it is suggested what you lot see, is different from what the rest of the world sees. Do yourself a favour if you want to know what happens in the world, choose independant media, not that owned by whatever corporation who have an interest in training their audience to their way of thinking. People on here go on about corporate lobbying, hey in whose interest is it to make sure a certain politician gets into power, free air time, advertising, take a look at which politician is promoted by which network, and ask yourself why, because they are popular, hardly, how about get the party into power that will respond favourably to the lobbying of the corporation that seeks relaxations in laws to make their media more powerful than it has ever been. For what purpose, how about target audience, the more the merrier for such things as advertising, you know that thing the media is paid to do, which amounts to nothing more than influencing public oppinion.
