My first serious relationship was with someone who lived in Boston while I was living in north central Connecticut, a 90 minute drive away.  I made that drive pretty much every weekend for a year until I moved to the Boston area.  If someone is interested in you, an hour drive isn't necessarily going to be a deal-breaker.
